I'll be visiting Disneyworld for the first time as a family next year.

We're going to 10 days to the CBR. I haven't booked any passes yet.

The three parks we def want to visit are Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Typhoon Lagoon. We also want to get out and about outside Disney and do some shopping, Cape Canavarel, possibly an airboat ride and perhaps a day on the beach. What would you recommend we do about passes, do we buy individual ones for each day we want to visit the parks or should we purchase them in another way. My DH insists that he doesn't want to spend every day in the parks and I am inclinded to agree with him, however I do want some flexibility to come and go as we please and go back to the park if we don't fit everything in on one day. What's our best option?

Thanks PP

hmmmmm a tricky one
We get hooked on the theme parks and want to stay there.
Maybe a 7 day tickets, because then you can always go back in for a firwork display or a meal one evening if you've been out hitting the malls etc

I'm sure everyone else will have better knowledge than me lol

If you want to park hop on the same day then a one day ticket is no good unless you get a hopper ticket.

You need to work out how long you want to be at Disney and then double it:rotfl2: If this is your first time - there is too much to see

Hi,
As you're staying on site.. it seems a shame not to do all the parks?? CBR is fairly central and the internal bus system is invaluable.
You could park hop like jtlover said. When we stayed on site, we made the most of the free transportation and did our 'favourite rides' at one park in the morning, went back to the hotel for a swim/relax and then went off to a different park for the evening. If you are only going for 10 days, you need to plan it carefully!! If you start with all your 'must do's' .. you wont miss anything!
Even if you are going with young children.. there is definately something to see at all the parks! Good luck with the planning!!

If you want park hopping features and use of Disney Quest I recommend an ultimate ticket we have purchased ours online before and received them in plenty of time before our trip:goodvibes

In your position I'd ignore all the 'just for UK market' options and buy Magic Your Way Base Tickets for the minimum number of days you think you'll want. All the other options - park hopping, no expiration, water parks and extra days can be added whilst you're there if you decide you need them and and you won't pay any more than if you'd bought them upfront.

If you bought MYW Base Tickets for the 2 days you know you want to visit, you'd pay $140.58 adult/$117.15 child. The water park add-on is a flat fee of $53.25 (with the 2 day ticket, you get 3 admissions), so it would be cheaper to just pay for your one day at Typhoon Lagoon ($38.34 adult/$31.95 child). A total, then of $178.92/$149.10.

If you bought a 5 Day Premium Ticket (UK option), you'd pay in the region of £150 (adult)/£130 (child). That would give you park hopping privileges for all 4 theme parks plus 4 options for the minor attractions (water parks, Pleasure Island, Wide World of Sports and DisneyQuest). This ticket expires 14 days from first use. By way of comparison, a 5 day MYW Base ticket, plus park hopping and water park options (which is then an identical pass) would cost $267.32 (adult) which, at the current exchange rate is more or less the same.

Thank you Debbie, I've never head of the MYW tickets and they sound ideal. How do you go about topping them up in resort - at the park entrances or can this be done elsewhere?
