Park pass availability question

We are going to WDW next week. I’d like to switch one of my reservations from Hollywood studios to AK. Showing AK available for resort guests but not APs. I’m afraid to cancel HS and then not get AK and then HS will not be available and I’ll be stuck. We are staying at a Disney resort.

If it's available for resort guests you should be able to get it, but you won't be able to book it until you have cancelled HS. and they changed the way you book for resort guests, so I would have to go through it at least once to make sure I knew how to grab AK quickly.

I'm trying to book a park reservation for AK on Monday and it keeps giving me this error. Anyone else getting this?

Thank you. I just changed another day to practice so I see how it works. I’m just so afraid to give up HS and then not get AK and then I’m stuck with Epcot. Ugh. I don’t know if I should try?

It is very scary. I did this about a week or two before Thanksgiving week. We have APs but were staying onsite. I was trying to switch to DHS, which still had availability. I canceled just me, but then something looked really weird, like it wouldn't let me book anything for the day I canceled. I started panicking and called Disney. While waiting for them to answer, I figured out that I was looking at something incorrectly. I about had a heart attack and then jumped for joy when I was able to book. Got to do it at least once to not be panicked the next time.
