park openings

I was wondering how early should I arrive at the parks? I am staying at the sheraton vistana resort and we have a rental car. We are not going to the parks on the early entry days.

I would try arriving 30 minutes before the gates open. THey are still checking for security purposes and sometimes they open the gates earlier then the announced time.
