Park lockers?

I don't think we'll need to use the park lockers since we will be staying at the HRH, but I've read that some rides have lockers that you must put your belongings into in order to ride the ride--is there a charge for these lockers? I'm just wondering if my teens will need money for this while in the parks. I think they can charge any store purchases or food purchases with their HRH room key/card so no need to carry money for those things. And, are there holes in the key /FOTL cards so the kids can wear them around their necks instead of having to carry them and possibly loosing them? Yes, we are "first-timers" :teleport:

The rides that insist lockers must be used are free for first hour I think I know the hulk is free as is MIB not sure of mummy, if u ask at front desk they will punch holes in your keys for lanyards

Thanks Highlander, my 13/DS has a habit of loosing things!!! That relieves my fears! I want to pack NOW!!

Any ride that requires you to store bags has free lockers including the Mummy. They are usually free for 2 hours.

I would buy your kids some lanyards at Universal. They cost less than $5 and are really great for carrying money, change, hotel keys, and passes. The first compartment is clear for hotel pass, annual pass, or park passes. Then there is a zipper compartment for carrying change and another compartment for money. They are nylon and lightweight and fairly waterproof. They have the Universal logo on them and make a great souvenir. I've had mine for 4 years and still use it so I don't have to carry a purse in the parks. My drivers license and credit cards fit great. I even use it at Disney so I don't have to go through bagcheck.

Hulk, dueling dragons, mib, mummy all require that you put your stuff in a locker. It is free for at least the first hour. I have never had to pay. The only thing is that people generally don't know how to use it. It goes by your fingerprint and it has to scan it twice. FYI if you go to seaworld they make you pay for the lockers to ride the water flume ride and the roller coaster.

Thanks everyone. I think the lanyards are a great idea--I didn't consider the park tickets /money/change too besides the room key. I may get lanyards here at home before we go or maybe a Universal brand one when we get there :) I like the fact you can just slip them under your shirt on a wild ride if need be.

and I complain every time. UO is smart enough that if they require it, they give you a fair amount of time at no charge.
