I just checked park hours for the time we will be going to DLRP. It says that the MK is open until 11pm on the 26th and 27th of May. Does anyone know why they are open so late?
Does this mean there is a chance of fireworks??

Thanks! Karin

I would imagine it's because of the Bank Holiday Weekend and the expectation of high numbers of guests, as the times revert back to 8.00pm after those dates.
Fireworks aren't due to start until July, though - have a fabulous trip and enjoy those extra hours :)
I notice that the same hours are operating during the Easter holiday season according to the "Castmember.be" site as part of the "Extra Magical Hours" for Disney hotel guests. :goodvibes

I would not think so as Disney have to get special permission from the local mayors and only for a limited amount of time. Even without the fireworks you'll have a great time :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing. I would never have noted the time change as I already wrote it down.
I am so excited as we have never been there that late at night.

Yes these new flexible hours are being tested throughout May.

It means that on some days the park will be open until 9pm, 10pm or 11pm, however sadly it also means both parks will close at 6pm on selected days of the week.

There are no fireworks planned. But Fantillusion was being talked about as a possible weekend perk when I left the Entertainment Department 2 weeks ago.

That would be amazing IF it ever happened. But if they have problems putting on the fireworks, how would they get away with Fantillusion?

The fireworks are the problem, the nearby villagers complain about the noise and smoke pollution from them. The park is allowed to use them in the summer and on certain special occasions after written permission has been recieved from the residents. And the shells cannot explode over a certain height, or make a noise louder then an agreed DB level.

Parades have no issues like this as there are no fireworks, minumum noise and no smoke pollution. They are held on the property and don't interfear with the "public airspace".

Its a complicated affair but there are no problems with running Fantillusion, except for the budget issues.

That's what I'd always been led to believe. Thank goodness they are allowed fireworks in the summer :thumbsup2

Doh - I'm really out of it today!! Sorry to seem so stupid!!

So if they start running Fantillusion every weekend, it would just be going back to what they used to do, until about three years ago. I would like to go back to that, even though they don't really need to be drawing the crowds in at weekends!!!!

BTW I love your avatar Tom!!
