I am trying to save money and get the most out of our trip. We will be in the world for 2 weeks in June and I am trying to decide which tickets to buy. I know I do not want the MYW tickets that let you visit water parks and things, but do I want to have a park hopper ticket? I could save almost $170.00 without that option. I guess what I am asking...(finally!) is that is it worth the extra $$$ to be able to hop from park to park. We are not staying on property, so I do not know if that makes a difference in my decision. We have been before and if you can believe this, I do not remember if we hopped from park to park. My age is creeping up on me :scared:

What have other people out there done? Is it a big hassle to park hop? Any info would be helpful!

The question you need to answer is, if you only plan on one park per day, if a park closes early (say Animal Kingdom at 5 or 6pm) will you be ready to end your day then? We always use our hoppers to go to Epcot or MK.

AK and MK are the parks that you need to work around the most, as far as hours go.

Hm. Good question. I mean, we always get Park Hopper passes but then again, we're not usually going to be in the parks for more than 5 days, so it benefits us to be able to park hop and squeeze everything in.

But, if you're going to be visiting the parks for 2 weeks, then you most likely will be able to do everything you want without having to park hop and run around everywhere.
I can't think of any reason why you would need to buy a park hopper pass in your situation unless it's affordable for you to just have the option there for you to take advantage of (ex: if you all of a sudden get the urge to take the plunge on Tower of Terror but you were in Epcot that day, or if you want to make dinner reservations in one park on a day when you're in another park-which you probably won't do). So, that's my opinion.
I'm pretty sure that if you buy the base ticket with no PH option, and you decide once you're down there that you do want it, you can add the PH option to you ticket at the gate-but they charge you a little more then if you buy the ticket off Disney property.

How many days will you actually be spending in the parks? If you have 10-day MYW passes then I see no reason to add hopping to them. As Disney Girlie-Wirlie said, you should be able to see and do everything that you want over a 10-day period.

But if you're only spending 5 days in the parks, it would be nice to be able to go between parks on days when one closes early (like AK) or if you want to go between parks on your last day to see anything you missed the first time around. In that case, I would get the hopping option.

I also agree--although it is busy during June, if you are planning on spending more than 5 or 6 days in the parks anyway then you probably don't need the hopping option. We go in early June every year and typically only park hop to see Spectro and Wishes at MK and to catch the 2nd showing of Fantasmic at MGM.

Thanks for the good advice! I didn't realize I could upgrade once I was there. That might be the best option.

Thanks everyone!
