Park Hopping to MK Resorts with your own car still difficult?

I remember hearing a while back that Disney was cracking down on security at the MK resorts. If you didn't have an ADR at one of the MK resorts you weren't going to be allowed in with your car.

I have a trip coming up the end of October. I want to visit Trader Sam's. Will I need to park at the TTC? Are they still doing the no parking at MK resorts crackdown?

There was a sign up at the Poly during our recent stay (9/13 to 9/16) that stated you must be a resort guest or have an ADR in order to park at the resort.

You always have the option of valeting your car even if you don't have an ADR. When stopped, tell the guard that you are going to Trader Sam's and will be using the valet service. If for some reason they do not let you pass, you can park at the TTC and walk to the Poly. Frankly, that option isn't all that different than self-parking at the Poly which can be really hard to do.

We met up with some friends at TS in June. We parked at the TTC and they tried to get in the resort parking lot and they weren't allowed.

I have always found it difficult to find a spot at the Poly even when I DID have an ADR....

it seems that if you are really park hopping, it might be easier to take a bus from that park.....or if you want to take your car, you have already paid for parking at that first park, so you don't have to pay to park again that same day at MK, and you can just walk over.....

Thanks for all the quick responses everyone. We'll be staying at a Disney resort but we won't be doing parks this trip except for a MNSSHP. So parking at the TTC will most likely be the best option. I just wanted to check to see if that was still going on.

And just so you know...if you pay to Valet at any resort, you can keep your ticket and use it for valet service at any other resort (that has valet parking) that same day. So for $25 you get a full day of front door parking at as many resorts that you want to hop to. Cocktails at Trader Sam's. Dinner at the California Grill. Dancing at the Boardwalk. On the front end, $25 might seem steep. At the end of the day, it becomes money well spent.

That is good to know...we were thinking of going to a few different resorts Halloween night to check out the Halloween festivities. What do you do for valet, just pull up to the main entrance where people enter to check in? Are there visible signs for the valet?

Yes. You will see signs that look like this:
