This will be our 1st trip since FP+ was instituted. DH and I are planning an adult trip... Around 6 days.... So, I was wondering if getting park hoppers works well with FP+ or is it better to do one park each day???

What is the best way to hop with the new fast pass system??

We park hop almost every day. Rope drop with no FP+ in the AM and book our 3 FP+ at whatever park we will be at in the PM.

When we park hop, we either use morning EMH or rope drop our first park, then head to our second park around lunchtime. We save our fastpasses for the 2nd park.

I was also wondering if people think it is better to hop or not with the new FP?? I know "better" is personal preference, but I was really looking for what you have experienced and if you thought it worked well/better or was a mistake.

We rope drop in the morning and use FP for a different park in the afternoon. Only exception is when MK has EMHs at night, we will use FP earlier in the day at a different park. Worked well for us and we were able to do all headliners more than once.

I think the new FP+ system makes park hopping more attractive for people now.

You can book your 3 FP's for a 2nd park later in the day and know that you are going to get to ride these with a minimal wait where before there was no guarantee that there would be any paper FP's left should you have hopped to a different park.

I guess we are different with our touring style. We are 2 adults and we have parker hoppers. We use fp in the am at our target park for that day. We are early risers and like riding walk on for a while and then using our fp's for repeats of our favorites. At noon, we go back to the resort, rest, and then we decide where we will spend the evening. Sometimes it's Disney springs, or usually another park. We ride standby at the 2nd park. I know that is taking chances on getting what we want, but we will hit the pm park on one of our park mornings and do everything. I think that keeps some spontaneity alive for us; just wing it for the evenings. Works for us!

I always get the park hopper option and FP+ hasn't made a difference in my plans. AK usually closes at 5 or 6, so you have to hop to another park after it closes--at least I have to:-). I usually spend one entire day there and use the 3 FP+. At night I go to either MK to see the Electric Parade and Fireworks, HS to see Fantasmic, or EPCOT to just hang out and have a good dinner. Lately, I been going at least 8 days and do split a lot of the days. For EPCOT, the only FP+ options I like are in Tier 1--I never use my Tier 2s. Same with HS, I only use my Tier 1 options, never the Tier 2s. Seems a waste, but that's not my fault. MK is the trickiest since all of the great rides take FP+, so I always go there multiple days. With 6 days, I'd probably do 1 day AK, then hop to one of the others at night, 2 days at MK with 1 full day and hopping the 2nd day (usually to EP at night or HS for Fantasmic), 1 day at HS, 2 days and possibly other nights at EP. In the end, I suppose you could not get the park hopper option, but its really not a lot extra, especially with your 6-day ticket. I think that's how I justify it and I certainly like the flexibility when a park gets crazy or too hot and I just want a change. Just my two cents--take them for what they're worth! .....but, most importantly, have a great time!!!

Thanks for all of the great advice!! I really appreciate it! Now I just have to decide which way to use FP that will work best for us... Both ways (am/pm) seem to have merit!

Yea both ways have merit.

We found that there was no way to get as much done in the morning as we used to without using FPs. That being said its nice to have evening FPs booked so you know you have that option.

For us the later was of less value because going at mid-slower times of year, there were always legacy FPs available in the afternoon/evening. So we were able to FP our faces off in the morning, and still FP like crazy in the later afternoon/evening when we park hopped somewhere else. No longer an option unfortunately, and there seem to be much fewer FPs available later in the day even during moderate season.

Up coming trip we have most days with FPs booked 11 - 2 ... with on or two days with FPs in the evening ...
