We will be visiting the parks 5 days and hope to get to 2 parks in one day on at least two of those days. Monday - MK/Epcot, Tuesday - MK, Wed - MGM, Thur - Waterpark/Quest, Friday - AK

What kind of tickets do you suggest we buy? Can we just buy two tickets with the park hopper option? We think we'll definately need the waterparks and more ticket for Thur? Help!

And would anyone suggest a great place for discount tickets? A friend suggested some of the booths in Orlando that sell the used tickets that haven't expired yet. Thoughts/experiences? We are military and right now just planned to buy from Shades of Green - but would consider another place if we could get a better deal elsewhere.

I'm not an expert, but I don't think yo ucan use other peoples tickets. They scan your finger, so each ticket it "attached" to a person. I never heard of that booth before. It sounds like just a rumor, or myth.
I would say 5 day parkhoppers with water park option is what you will want. I think that is the cheapest way to do it. Especially since you plan to do more than one park a day.
I would suggest to make MGM a half day park, and EPCOT a full day. I found MGM not too exciting myself. And it takes along time to get trhough EPCOT. Or just do a full day each, and not have the hopper.

Sogn up for Mousesavers.com and they can lead you to discount tickets. But from what I see the discounted tickets are very discounted. It helps, but it isn't a ton of money off of them.princess:

For what you said you were going to do (4 of the days in theme parsk), get a 4 day ticket with hopping and water park fun.

If you are going to do that same thing twice, or any second vacation where the ticket leftovers completely cover, then get a 10 day ticket with hopping and water park fun and non-expiration.

Tickets may not be handed back and forth to share. You may not use somebody else's used ticket.

Do not buy tickets from roadside booths or from private parties or via eBay.

If you are military, buy your tickets on base, it's usually cheaper than shades of green and they are cheaper then anyone else and no tax!

Thanks for the advice...we thought the used tickets were a scam and definately to shady!

We'll buy from our ITT base travel office - same prices as Shades. The only difference was that we can only buy the basic DW ticket, but we can add the other options just before entering any of the parks - more convient.

Glad to hear you won't be buying used tickets from some shadey shack-this should send out a big red flag to anyone thinking of doing this.

Just a thought on changing days on your ticket before entering a park - while it may sound "convenient" it probably takes more time than you'd like. I went into MGM one day and wanted to have my DD's child ticket changed to an adult ticket (no charge to do so). It seemed to take forever! :confused3 Had I known I would have gotten this little chore out of the way at the DTD public relations ticket office (can't think if that's even the name?). Anyway it was much more time consuming than I'd planned for.

Have a great trip!
