Park Hopper?

Our family is going to be at WDW during our Spring Break (April 4-11). We are a family of four with and 11 yo and 13 yo. We have never bought Park hoppers in the past but we’re thinking about it this time. We have 5 days of tickets. Are Park Hoppers worth it?

Depends on your touring style. They are nice to have during busier times though, if one park becomes too crowded you can try hopping to another. If you’re staying very near a park (like CR or BWI) it’d be nice too, but it’s entirely possible to have a great vacation without them.

We always get the park hopper. After a full day in each park, we usually split time between a couple parks over the last few days of our vacation. We try to hit our fav things again or do something we missed on the first day. Last Summer we couldn't get a SDD fastpass until the evening of day 6 of our vacation so we spent time at EPCOT first and then went to DHS later in the afternoon. With the AK, we don't need 2 full days there but we like being in Pandora at night a couple times so we hop back over there for dinner and Pandora another night.

My family always starts in one park than takes a mid day break than plays the fastpass game. And if we find something good we go to that park at night. ( Unless we had something planned like a dessert party).

We wouldn't function without it. But like others have said many family's do.

We've debated not getting Park Hoppers before, but every new trip we end up doing it... AND then are very happy by our decision. Being able to hit Epcot for a few hours and then HS in the afternoon (via Skyliner) is so awesome. We'll eat breakfast inside Epcot and then monorail over to MK for a great part of the day, only then to return to Epcot to ride Test Track and Skyliner back to the hotel.

Well worth it!

I love hoppers, esp during busy times. Just FYI, you can go with regular tickets and then if you decide you want to add hopping, you can at any point.

I think if its your 1st or 2nd trip, not really worth it (unless you're going when MK has a bunch of hard ticket events). But if MK is open late most nights you're there, it might be worth it to hop to MK after your "park of the day" closes

It is all personal preference, but we love park hoppers. It is nice to keep options open for after our initial three FP+ are used. We decide as a family where are we going after this? Very nice for tweens/teens too because they will have an opinion on where they want to go. :P (not like I know that from experience or anything ...:rolleyes1)

And we love dinners at Epcot, so it is nice to have a morning/afternoon at one park and hop over to Epcot for a nice dinner.

I say give it a try if your budget allows!

For 5 days, I would vote NO for my trips. I can easily fill one day at one park.
Just ask yourself what has changed now that makes you want to change it up? Have the kids gotten older and can plod thru a full day? If so, there's a valid reason to go for it.

One thing you need to consider is the length of your stay. How many days will you be spending in the park. If you were going to the Parks over 6 days I would avoid the hopper, there will be plenty of time to re-do or finish a park by going to it twice. Another factor you should consider is "why do I want to leave this park to go to the other park" If you have a legitimate and worthwhile reason than doing it. Don't just Hop to Hop.

We always utilize the park hopper option- family of 4, including two teens. There may be a day that we are only in one park but otherwise love the flexibility.
Our reasoning: dinner reservations are often in Epcot; plus we thoroughly enjoy the World Showcase in the evenings, even if it’s just to have a beer and explore one country.
Also, we usually take advantage of the late hours at MK when available, which is usually at least once during our stay and we’ve always been in another park earlier in the day.

I would also consider whether you want to attempting to get a boarding group for ROTR. Maybe this won't be as big of an issue by the time you go, but if there is still significant downtime to that ride, I'd like to have the flexibility to try again if I miss out. As things stand now, you can grab a BG and hope over to Epcot by rope drop.

Thanks for all of the input. We bought through Sams Club and park hoppers were in our budget and the girls are excited for the possibilities of snacking in Epcot more than one day. Lol. We’re excited to try this new us way to enjoy the parks.
