Park Hopper Tickets

I'm new to DL
so they are paper tickets?
not hard tickets like WDW.
:cutie:

There are some hard plastic tickets for DL. I've heard you sometimes get them when ordering online through disney, but not always. I've always gotten mine from the AAA (auto club).

If you go to your local AAA office you can order park hopper "souvenir tickets". The souvenir means it has a nice graphic logo on the front and you can save it as a souvenir of your trip. Last I checked a year ago if you ordered a 4 day or longer park hopper from AAA it only came as a souvenir ticket. I think you can get 3-day PH souvenir tickets. I'm not sure if you can get less than that. Just make sure your AAA travel agent confirms with Disney (because that's who they call to order them) that it's a "souvenir ticket". My AAA office has up to 3-day PH tickets available at the counter, but these are paper tickets. You need to go to their travel department to order the souvenir tickets. Do this a few weeks before your trip (you have to be a AAA member). If you are interested, you probably can ask them to order you a Disney luggage tag too (extra cost and I think you have to get it with a ticket). The design for the luggage tags varies from year to year.

I have 2 Disney Card zipped wallets. One has Mickey in black and white Is just a bit bigger than a credit card but holds 4 card/tickets per side with a zppered middle pocket that I keep spare keys in. Because it zips all around 3 sides it opens well. But keep things in place. I have a Tink wallet but is more wallet like.

I think the hard plastic tickets for DL is what we call an annual pass…. Its different here then at WDW, our tickets are the generic paper ones, not the hard plastic . you only get that when you have an AP (annual pass).

No there are hard credit card style tickets that you can be issued. We had 4 day hoppers and we had hard tickets, maybe it was 5 day hoppers.....I don't remember exactly but we have had credit card style hoppers. Actually the APs are more flimsy then the hoppers were.

I've definitely heard about the hard plastic, multi-day park hoppers several times around here on the boards. I forget where people said they bought them, but they were definitely different from AP's.

Definitely. Do I sound like RainMan, lol?

ok..let me ask you this.. did you stay at any of the DLR hotels on property? becuase skiingfast just told me that his multi day park hopper ticket was not hard plastic it was paper...he also did not stay on property.. so maybe the hard plastic ones are for those that stay at the hotels on property

No we didn't stay on site that time, and the time we stayed on site with friends who needed tickets (because we had APs) the tickets were little slips of paper. We had 4 or 5 day hoppers, these we used to upgrade to APs the first time we had them, I did a package thru Disney Travel, we stayed off site, the Tropicana I believe, and they were credit card style tickets.

Pwings how did you recieve your tickets?

When I've bought them at a Disneystore, and at the turnstyle it never mattered 5 day to 1 days they were all paper. I'm guessing you recieved them ahead of time?

Like I said in my last post, the trip was booked thru the Disney Travel Company so yes, I received my stuff before we left for the parks. But at our Disney Store they are all hard plastic like a credit card, and when I booked our first trip thru DTC we received paper tickets, so I really feel it depends on where you buy them and how many days you're going.

Also the hoppers that you can buy at grocery stores here in SoCal when Disney has special promotions are hard plastic cards.

Forgot about those! They sell the same ones at safeway here in hawaii.

That's right, our Safeway has hard plastic ones too. :)

Got the hard style tickets that are thicker than the AP ones. Last year ordered some tickets via disneyland.com and had to pick them up at disneyland member services counter. Had to pay $1 more but when I got the tickets, they were on a thick plastic card. Did not stay on site. Now I do not know if I was charged $1 more for the ticket or it was a service charge because ticket was picked up in person instead of printing it out.
