Hey i have a really quick question. If someone could help me out that would be great! Someone I know bought a ticket for disneyland online yesterday. It turns out now that they will not be able to make it. Is there a way that they can get a refund since it was just purchased yesterday and have not used it? Thanks in advance for your help! This could be a really dumb question...but i've never known anyone before this in this type of situation so i've never had to think about it!

I have not read of anyone seeking a refund on DL tickets before. Best bet is to call DL ticketing or website support and plead for help. I thought tickets were generally non-refundable. I suppose your friend could also call the credit card company and ask for advice.

Thanks so much for the response. We were thinking that's what she should do.. hopefully they can work something out!!

They are non-refundable, non-exchangeable. She may get some lucky "pixie-dust" so it never hurts to ask, but just know anything she gets is an act of kindness.

I sent her a message with the info and haven't heard back from her yet. Fingers crossed! I honestly didn't think they were refundable..I was hoping though that since they were only purchased last night we might have some luck. It's a bummer that she has to cancel!! They were 4 day park hoppers too!

They are definitely listed as non-refundable. All she can do is plead and try, but it is too bad that she just bought them and also just found out that she can't go. Perhaps she can find someone to go in her place if no exceptions can be made.

We bought park hoppers online and no issues returning them for a full refund. Call guest services.

You lucked out but as long as no portion has been used it is up to Disney to decide.

We were def thinking about that too. We are going with a rather large group and we know that one of our friends might be bringing a couple of extra people along. We are going to see how long they are staying and see if they would want to take them.

In March DS and I were supposed to have one lovely day at DL and DCA after a reunion. DH bought our tickets online while we drove from the reunion to Anaheim. At 2am that morning DS got ridiculously sick. Our plans were ruined.

I looked at the terms and conditions in the first email they sent regarding the purchase.
#1 Tickets are nonrefundable.

I chose to not bother with hoping for pixie dust. We're hoping for a trip in December to use them.

In the second email they send, the one that has the PDF of the ticket, the recipient of the email will see a link to FAQs.

Can I order and pay for Disney's eTickets on my credit card but give them to another guest as a gift?

Yes.

So they can certainly allow someone else to use them. They do not ask for ID when you turn them in at the turnstile.

A similar thing happened to us a couple of years ago. We actually had the parkhoppers in hand a couple of months before we were scheduled to go when we found out that it was going to be a no go. I called guest services adn they refunded my money without a problem. It took several weeks for the credit show up on my account.

My husband bought one for our baby one year and I didn't know it until we showed up at the gate. They gave us a gift card to use in the parks even though the ticket had been purchased and printed online at the hotel less than 20 minutes earlier. I don't think you can count on a refund, but they may be able to use it later on down the road.

I've ordered the wrong tickets online and was able to get a refund. Just call Disney ASAP. It was really easy, no need for a manager approval or anything. This was at Christmas 2007.

Talked to my vacation planner today she said there would be no problem getting a refund. As long as it has not been used as previously stated.

This is good information in case I ever make a purchase mistake.

Do you think the same applies if you order an AP voucher/e-ticket online and realize that you only needed a park hopper ticket after all? I did this last month before the price increase and then didn't need the AP after all, but thought it was too late to get a refund/credit. Just wondering for the future.
