Can anyone explain exactly how these work. I've always had the unlimited length of stay passes. I was thinking about doing the php's this time, but I'm not sure how they work. If I go to a water park (plus option) and a theme park at night, then i've blown a full day of my pass right?

The Park Hopper Plus are bought for a certain number of 'park' days. For instance we get the 7 Day pass which gives us 7 days to hit any or all of the 4 theme parks. We can go to MK and stay there all day or bounce to all parks that day and we've used one day. Days not used on a given trip never expire, they can be used next year or next century. The 'Plusses' are a little different. The 7 Day Hopper Plus comes with 4 plusses. Go to a waterpark and you've used a plus. Bounce to another waterpark the same day and you've used another. Go to PI that night or any other night and you've used a third plus. The unused plussed also never expire. If our daughter decides to join us for a for days this Nov. we have a 7 Day Hopper Plus from last year with no 'park' days left but with 3 plusses, so she'll buy a regular 4 Day Hopper with no plusses and use the old pass for PI. To answer your last question, if you go to a waterpark in the morning and a theme park at night and you had a 7 Day Hopper Plus, you've used one of your park days leaving you with 6 and one of your plusses leaving you with 3. You can spend a vacation at WDW and do nothing but go to waterparks 4 times and still have 7 park days left for another trip or as my son did last year hit the parks 7 days and PI once leaving us with 3 plusses to give to my daughter this year.

Wow Bill,

Thanks for the tutorial. I'm trying to decide whether it works out better to do the PHP rather than the unlimited stay. I guess it does. We have a 9 night reservation and plan to go to Sea World one day. Any opinions on how many days PHP I should go for?

We're staying 9 nights with 8 park days in Nov. We're buying the 7 Day Hopper Plus and a 2 Day pass to Universal/IOA. To hop between Universal and IOA you must have the 2 day pass. We'll use the remaining day on our next trip. The 2 day Uni/IOA pass also gets you into City Walk. Check out the web site below. They have 7 Day Hopper + tix for $295.95 and great prices on other attraction passes. We used them last year and will this year.

Bill the Universal webiste is still offering the web only bonus passes. Five consecutive days for about $90. Not much more tha the 2 day tickets and it gives you flexibility to go back (crowds/weather/see fireworks again).

Lewisc,

Thanks for the info, I'll look into it but I don't think it will benefit us. Those 5 days expire if I'm not mistaken. We really only want to put in one day at Universal/IOA per vacation so having an unused day that doesn't expire is better than 4 that do. Universal had a buy-2-get-one- free deal but they changed that offer so that the days had to be used in a certain time frame. I'll keep my eye on the Universal site until we actually buy the passes, probably mid Oct. unless we come across a deal.

Over on the Unviversal board someone mentioned Sam's Club is selling 2 day Universal tickets that don't expire for about $85. Check it out if that interests/helps you!

Ok , so it is cheaper to buy a package that includes the length of stay passes, OR just book the hotel and buy the park hoppers. We will stay 5 nights, and wont be going to the water parks.
