Park Hopper Plus Question

We can only afford WDW once every few years so an AP isn't the most economical for us. I'm thinking we should buy 7 day PHP's and use them for two or three visits. I don't feel the need to spend every day in the parks, so I'm wondering if two or three days of parks, one day at a water park and then relaxing at our resort for a few days and checking out other resorts would be a good plan. Does anyone do this? How has it worked out for you? Thanks for your advice!

sounds good to me! We usually don't do parks each day anyway, so parkhoppers work well for us (we can use unused days next time).
