Park Hopper pass regrets?

We did not get them in '08 and did not miss them - we like spending the whole day in one park :thumbsup2

This past trip (April) we had them because DFIL paid for the whole thing and he insisted on having PH. Out of the 11 in our party only 3 of us used them and it was only once in a 10 day stay. I got DH & DD up early our last day and we did MK, Epcot and HS :dance3:

While I loved the day we hopped from park to park I am not sure it is a must do for us for every trip. It had more to do with everyone else in the party not wanting to do rides more than once and getting to the parks late and leaving early :confused3 there were so many things DD wanted to do again that we just spent the day by ourselves and met everyone else at HS for dinner and F!

This next trip we are not doing PH - we have 2.5 days planned at MK, 2 at Epcot and 1 each at AK & HS. Don't see the need to do more/less at any of the parks. Now, if we were going for a longer stay (say 10+ days) then I would like to have PH for after we had done everything and just want to do a couple of extra rides at each park or go to dinner at Epcot every night.

We have always bought hoppers. We did it in 2005 with 3 kids, that were 3, 5 and 7. We would go to one park in the morning, head back to hotel after lunch, relax, swim, then head to dinner at another park.

We will do the same this year, with 5 kids, 14, 12, 10, 6 and 3. It works for us. I like the flexibility. I really thought of not getting hoppers, but then I was terrified, because we like to leave if a park is too packed and move to another one.

we had park hoppers for our trip in April - and never used them- but still were very happy to have them. We loved not feeling strapped down to a particular park on a particular day, etc. We're getting them for our next trip in may.

When our kids were little, the "hop" was often their break. It was a down time on transportation.

The freedom and flexibility of PH's is what we really enjoy. I don't think we have ever stayed at one park all day. We get AP's sometime (have them now) so that is a mute point for them, but never get base tickets.

With little one not sure if it is worth it. I would wait until you get there and hop to add it on....and then you will save some $$. We are going at the end of Aug without hoppers with 4 children 12 and under. We plan on going to the water park day 4 into our trip, at that point I will add on the water park option. It is cheaper.

We bought the park hopper option, and did not use it one time during our trip! I wish that I would have saved that money! It all depends on your touring style and what you are hoping to accomplish each day. Our first trip was in April with our 3 year old son. We did Magic Kingdom 2 days in a row, Epcot 1 day, and Animal Kingdom 1 day. We went to Downtown Disney the night that we finished up at Animal Kingdom. In the future we will save the extra money and not purchase the park hopper option.

We have probably been to WDW 20 times in the lase 20 years, with and without children. Our normal routine covers about 6 park days where we will have a primary park for a day, but will switch during the day or evenings for shows, fireworks and/or restaurants. Toward the end of the week we will switch parks once or twice a day to catch things that we may have missed or that we want to do again. The children have been our grandchildren as they turn five. We don't take strollers (a/k/a "bumpalongs") we rent for the length of the stay. That way when we leave a park, we turn it in and when we enter the new park we pick up another one using the same receipt. Park Hoppers - wouldn't leave home without them.
