It really depends on your touring style, where you are staying, time of year/crowds, and now FP+ adds a new wrinkle.
We have had PAP's the last couple of years. We stay DVC so are usually very close to at least 1 park. We've had to go during busier times lately. I have little ones, so we usually do rope drop to lunch, then head back resort for naps, early dinner then the parks for fireworks and a few rides. We plan out our mornings, but usually just go wherever we feel like it for the evening, so we definitely like the PH ability.
Now, with FP+, we have a whole lot more things to consider. Given our normal touring style, it makes sense to hit a park at rope drop and ride standby and save our FP+ for the evenings. We also love the water parks, so we can hit them in the morning and then still be able to ride the headliners at night. So for us, we probably will still utilize a lot of hopping.
