Park Hopper or not

We stopped doing hopper in our last two trips despite staying at GF and BC. Honestly we do not miss it. With three little kids, the last thing I and my wife want again is to drag the whole family to two parks a day. If we are done with one park, we would just have a dinner at the park or go back resorts and relax.

I haven't read the other replies but I would consider it if you're staying at BCV, and depending on your touring style. We stayed at BCV in October and it's so easy to just run over to Epcot for a snack or dinner or to catch Illuminations!

If all parks closed at the same time, I might not get park hoppers. BUT since they don't, we buy park hoppers and use them to the fullest. :)

It really depends on your touring style, where you are staying, time of year/crowds, and now FP+ adds a new wrinkle.

We have had PAP's the last couple of years. We stay DVC so are usually very close to at least 1 park. We've had to go during busier times lately. I have little ones, so we usually do rope drop to lunch, then head back resort for naps, early dinner then the parks for fireworks and a few rides. We plan out our mornings, but usually just go wherever we feel like it for the evening, so we definitely like the PH ability.

Now, with FP+, we have a whole lot more things to consider. Given our normal touring style, it makes sense to hit a park at rope drop and ride standby and save our FP+ for the evenings. We also love the water parks, so we can hit them in the morning and then still be able to ride the headliners at night. So for us, we probably will still utilize a lot of hopping.

How would you do a Park Hopper for just one day? We have purchased a 3 day magic your way... one day and MK, one day a Epcot... we wanted to do a PH just on the 3rd day... can you do that?

We did 6 park days with no hoppers last month and it was fine, I really wasn't sure but honestly when we were done with a park early the kids really wanted to go back to the resort to swim or we'd hit downtown Disney. There's just plenty to do. When we go back I'll consider it...but mainly for the fact that we are going to try to fit DHS and AK into the same day because we'd like to do Sea World and the beach next time and so that'd be one more day to do those things.

It's the same price whether you use it on one day or all 3. Might as well buy it whenever is convenient for you if you know for sure you're using it. Better than waiting in a line before you want to enter a park.

Is it true that if you don't have the PH and you can leave the park in the afternoon and take a break and return to the same park later on?

We will be staying at BCV in early Sept. 2014. We have always purchased the park hopper option with our tickets. Thinking back we very rarely ever do more than one park in a day and were thinking about not purchasing the PH option and saving some money. Four adults would equal 240 in savings.Has anyone ever done this and what were your opinions

I have an AP, rarely do I park hope. I just don't find it worth it, for me. I kind of just like taking in one place each visit, travel times can be long too. I would save the money but that's just my opinion.

It sure does depend on what you like to do as a family/group.
We have always hopped. Rope drop to afternoon, a nice long swim/meal midday and refreshed for a full later day/evening. Animals in the morning and evening shows. :)

Have fun,

We always use the PH option. Mostly because we go to one park in the day and then go back to the room shower and go to dinner and then usually end up somewhere else. Just how we r. prob because we did it from day one and just never changed our ways! :)

We always like to PH. We might not hop every day but it's always nice to have the option

W have decided NOT to park hop this trip - we are picking a park and sticking with it every day! You can leave the park go to an ADR at a resort and come back to the same park - or go to your room relax and go back later :) We are doing this in May - but decided to save the money this time and NOT park hop! really our only reasons for park hoping in prior trips were ADRs or just because... :)

I like having the option when staying at an Epcot resort, mainly b/c it allows us to just 'pop in' to Epcot for some food whenever....:thumbsup2 at other resorts I don't use it much as DH doesn't like hopping around....but when you're staying right next to the park,it might be nice to have, since Epcot has good food choices

My family of four has done without hoppers for the last several visits. Sometimes we stay at deluxe resorts, so we don't mind if we have some extra time to enjoy the amenities there. Other times we may be staying value, but we want to allot more time for DtD. Either way, it works for us not to have hoppers and we don't miss them a bit. With the price creep nowadays, that is about a $240 savings for us.
