I'm concerned that when I make my dining reservations that they won't work with the the EMH. The EMH schedule isn't posted until after I have to make the dining. So I thought if we had the hopper it wouldn't be an issue. Dh wants to pick one park and stay at it, just make a bunch of reservations and when the schedule comes down keep the one's that match and cancel the rest. Do you find that you use the hopper?

Yes. We use the hopper. I would never not get it. It is very conveinent. You can come and go to parks as you please. Some parks may not take all day for some people so this way you have the option to go to another park in the evening. For example, maybe in the morning you want to hit AK, but it usually closes around 5 or 6, with the hopper you could go to EPCOT at night and catch Illuminations.

my only concern about that would be the weather... say your favorite night show (wishes) gets rained out one night...and you'd want to go back another night to see it, but if you were in another park that day you couldn't go to back to the MK

We used it a lot when we were down there in Aug but I think it depends on whenyou are down there. If the hours are short and it is cool then I probably wouldn't park hop but we were there in Aug and we would always go back to the campsite to rest in the afternoon. We then usually hit another park in the late afternoon and evening because the parks were open until 9. The last day we hit 3 out of 4 parks, we skipped Ak but are sorry that we didn't hit all 4.

I would never go to wdw with out the park hopper. It allows us to do what we want when we want. For us ak is usually a 1/2 day park. So we hit that in the morning and go somewhere else in the evening. It is well worth the investment. the only thing we do not get is the plus feature that gives you admission to all water parks. DD is too young and would not enjoy it.

Have always had Park hopping, always felt it was very imp't for all of the above reasons...and yet looking back at my last 5 trips...(all of which were at least a week at Disney) I have only hopped 2 days!!! :earseek:

We always use the hopper feature, especially in the value season. Epcot is open later so we usually spend our evenings there after a day at another park. Have a great trip either way!

We did a four-day visit thso past May without the hoppers. I had sincere doubts, but actually it worked out well. We spent two days at MK and a day each at Epcot and MGM. AK we skipped since we knew it's not a full day park for our family. One thing I liked about not hopping was the time we saved in travelling from one park to another. Having said that, we'll probably go back to using hoppers next time, but NOT having hoppers is not the end of the world

Hi! We really put the hoppers to use. We went in early June so the park hours were later and we needed that break in the middle of the day. Some days we hit three parks and it didn't seem like such a big deal to travel back and forth by bus. It is so nice for us to spend a week without driving that this is part of the fun for us. I especially like the hoppers beccause as I planned dining, it didn't really matter if things didn't go exactly as planned - we could always change parks as needed.

You'll have fun no matter what!! :flower:

I just got back.
Friday: Afternoon Animal Kingdom, night Magic Kingdom
Saturday: Morning Animal Kingdom, afternoon Magic Kingdom
Sunday: All day Epcot, late EMH MGM
Monday: All day MGM, night Magic Kingdom

You may go to a park, and decide you don't want to spend all day there. Or go just to see a show like a previous poster mentioned. And as much as you would like to stick to a schedule with all your reservations, sometimes it just doesn't happen like you plan.

We are going in October and for this trip we decided NOT to get the Hopper because we are budgeting this trip and it was a not needed expense for us. We had hoppers last time and didnt use them at all. Of all the times we went, I can probably count on one hand when we hopped.

We're anxiously awaiting our first trip to WDW, but with teenagers, I can't imagine us NOT hopping. We're going during shorter park hours so I can easily see us closing one park down and then heading over to Epcot. We also got the options so the kids can do DisneyQuest and whichever water park is open..and DH and I can do PI. :)

I want us to have the freedom to do what we want, when we want. Well worth the extra cost to me.

We don't park hop at all. Last year we had hoppers and we didn't even need them so this year I saved some money and didn't get them.

The difference for us is having small children. One park a day is enough for my crew. We do one park a day and spend some time at the pool. That works for us. Maybe when the kids get older we' ll go back to hopping.

We would definitely not go to Disney without a hopper pass. We used it every day. At least 2 parks a day and sometimes 3!!!! And we use the plus too as we do Pleasure Island.

so i am trying to figure this out, we went to universal and all in june.. but what is the park hopper do you get to pick the parks ?

On our last trip we had 5 day hoppers, and only hopped once. This time we are going w/7 day pluses and not hopping. In september the lines are so short, there is little reason to leave a given park (usually), and since extra days on the ticket were cheaper than the hopping option, we went for that. That gives us 2 days at each park except AK, wich is one day. with a 1 yo, we figure on heading back to the resort when parks close early, rather than going to another park.
