I need info on Park Hopper and all the threads I've found on the Dis havent really given me the answers I've been looking for.

  1. How much $ will Park Hopper add to my total?
  2. Is it worth the extra $?
  3. Does anyone not like using it? Does anyone love using it? Anyone who cant go without it?

I've been in mega plan mode but I just dont have time to set an itinerary for each day and I doubt I'll have the time before I go. I'm hoping I can afford to add the Park Hopper so I can just go an do as I please and not panic about having every detail planned.

Thank you for any and all help!

How many people are going and what are their ages?

How many days are you buying passes for?

From mousesavers.com http://www.mousesavers.com/wdwticketprices.html

Extra cost on top of the base-price ticket is a flat rate of $35 ($37.28 with tax) for 1 day, or $55 ($58.58 with tax) for 2 days or more. This works out to a little over $8 per day on a seven-day ticket.

We don't go without park hoppers because they fit our touring plan style. We like to do one park in the AM, take a mid-day break, and do a different park in the evening. Also we sometimes hop in order eat at a preferred restaurant.

Two. 19 and 20. and we'll be there for nine days.

I already have my tickets. it would be a matter of calling Disney and adding park hopper. I think it would just be more convenient.

We never go without a park hopper. We like to do a morning at one park, go to the resort for a swim, and go to another at night. Also you can never count on Florida weather, so I like to be able to change plans to fit the weather.

I really can't imagine going without a parkhopper, myself. We like to change parks throughout the day on a whim, and often plan one morning in one park and night at another. It's also very nice if you're at a super-crowded park and you want to try to head off to another.

That being said, you don't have to decide now. If you decide you want to park hop, you can upgrade to the parkhopper at the parks for the same cost as it would be now.

The cost to add hopping (or WPF&M) is $55 ($58.58 including tax) per ticket. It does not matter if it is adult or child, two day or ten days, first day of use or last day of use, the price is the same. (For a Florida Resident it is $27.50 plus tax.)

Note that to add hopping to a one day ticket is $35 ($37.28 including tax)

So if you are not sure, don't order them. If you find you do need them, then upgrade your tickets at any ticket window or Guest Relations Office. It only takes a minute or so.

That sounds like a very relaxing vacation...much better than my planned to a T vacation...

Really?! That's great! Is it 50$ then? Is that per day?

This past May was the first time we have gone with out hoppers. Really enjoyed it, spent the entire day at AK when we usually just do one morning there. Had a great time. I love hopping but you can enjoy yourself without them.

We've never done park hoppers and don't plan to ever get them. We like to spend each day just in one park, seeing all that we can and not wasting time going from park to park. It does involve planning where you will be on what day and coordinating with your ADRs, but we have fun planning that and don't think the extra cost of park hopper is worth it for us.

We were there in June of 2010 for 6 nights and 7 days. We had PH tickets for our family of 4 and never did get the chance to use them. There was so much to do in each park that we never did have the chance to do all that we wanted to do while we were there. We spent 2 days at MK, 2 days at HS, 2 days at EPCOT and 1 day at AK. I can't begin to think how much time we would have wasted trying to go from 1 park to another. We ended up wasting the money we paid for them since we never did use them.
Next time we will use that money for something extra at the parks.

After traveling both with and without, we definitely enjoy the flexibility of the PH. We use it the most on days that AK closes at 5 or we want to eat dinner at a restaurant in another park. Our personal preference is dinner at Epcot over the other three parks.

With that being said, our next trip was a last-minute decision and is only 4 nights. We don't have time to take advantage of the PH and I don't want to spend the extra money if we won't really use it.

Hope that helps!

We usually get hoppers for a 7 day stay. Like PP said, the price is a one time charge for each ticket for the entire stay. So if you have 5 day tickets or 10 day tickets the PH option costs the same.

One year, when they changed over to the Magic Your Way packages, we did not get hoppers since we thought they were included. When we tried to hop we could not go through the gate. They just sent us over to the ticket booth and paid the PH option while were were there. Only took a few minutes.

This trip in December we are going to try without it. Planning ADRs for same park. If we find we need it we can add it but otherwise we'll try to live without it. Especially since the park hours are a little shorter I don't want to waste time traveling to another park.

$58 is for any ticket with 2 or more days. You can the PH option once you get to WDW.

We rarely stay in one park for an entire day. Sometimes we even hit three parks. PHs are really convenient if you go the eraly morning extra magic hours. The park tends to get really crowded around noon so you can enjoy the relatively less packed time in the morning and head to another less crowded one later.

For us the park hopper comes in handy in avoiding crowds- For example we visited HS for the bulk of a Tuesday- but wanted to get in the Electrical parade that night at MK. Anytime a special show or parade is going on the parks are crazy crowded so we enjoyed low crowds at HS during the day and hopped over in order to see the parade- (the crowds were really bad- but this meant we didn't have to deal with them all day) Then, we spent the bulk of Wednesday at MK. It was extremely low crowds due to there was no parade that night. We did the same thing with Fantasmic! We spent the day at another park, avoiding the upped crowd level due to Fantasmic! Then park hopped over to HS that night to see the show. When parades or shows aren't showing every night- the park hopper is a real benefit.

Last time we went, I was glad we had hoppers. One evening after spending the day at MK, ds and I were not ready to stop exploring. We took the bus over to DHS and did a few things over there. Another day we went to MK in the early AM then went over to Epcot for a late lunch. It is expensive but it does give you the option to move to a different park on a whim.

As others have said, it's great so you can hop to another park if it gets crowded. Also, if you have to cut one day short due to rain or tiredness or whatever, you can hop back to it on another day if you have time. We also like to hop to the park that has PM EMH during the PM EMH. If you go to the park with PM EMH during the regular park hours, it tends to be busier with people in that park for EMH, but once EMH kick in, it empties out with the non-resort guests leaving. So it works out well for that too. It's worth the extra $55 per ticket, just to have the options IMO.
