On our MGM day, I want to hop over to Epcot and ride Soarin'. We won't be able to get there until late afternoon, and I know what the line will be like by then. We've only got about 2 hours for that park before we have to be back at MGM for our dinner reservations, and I really don't want to spend all of that standing in line. I want to do the 1:00 LMAX show and then go on to Epcot. What I was thinking is that we're really finished with MGM around 11:30. After then we're just killing time (HISTK playground, characters, etc.) until the 1:00 show. This would be the perfect time to go get FP's for Soarin' for later that afternoon, but the kids would be much happier staying at MGM and playing. Would it be at all possible for my DH to stay with them and me take our passes and go to Epcot by myself to get the FP's? I'm assuming they would all have to be used for entry in order for me to be able to get FP's with them. Would they let me enter all four in order to do this?

You can explain your situation to a cast member when you get there, but I honestly don't think they'll let you scan all four tickets in order to get fastpasses. They keep a record of the number of guests who come in each day, and that could offset their numbers.

Maybe only by4 in your instance, but they probably don't want to set a precedent.

I'm no expert on this, but assumption is that you can't do it.

Epcot is generally open the latest of all the parks. Have you considered going after your dinner plans?

When DS & I were staying at the BCV just about a week ago there were a few mornings I went to EpCot for an hr or so while he was still sleeping. I asked CM if I could scan his AP so I could get fastpasses and he said no. I went to Soarin, grabbed a FP, rode the ride, waited about 10mins and grabbed another FP (same thing w/Test Track). CMs dont know whose ticket was used to get those FPs.

No because we want to see Fantasmic that night after dinner.

We'll probably just end up leaving MGM around 11:00, getting lunch at Epcot and get the FP's then. Then go back to MGM for LMAX and then back to Epcot again for Soarin'. Alot of back and forth - but luckily, my kids love that boat.

That would work except that there are four of us. One of the kids would have to go with me, and one would get to stay and play at the playground. I don't even want to have the argument! :teeth:

In the past you could take the hopper pass of another, late sleeping, family member, enter the turnstile with your pass, exit, and re-enter with the other pass, then use both to get fastpasses with.

Can't do that any more because your fingers won't match the finger scan ont he other pass.

The fastpass machine should reject park passes that were not used to enter the park.

Yeh, I thought about that - but hopefully, I won't pass for my DH. :teeth:

Since the tickets have been used that day-just not at Epcott, would that make a difference? I would think there is a chance that since you have used the tickets as admission media for the day that they would work in the fastpass machines, but I do NOT know for sure.

It won't work. In order for the FP machine to accept your pass, the pass has to have been scanned in at the gate of the park you are in. This is why people who get buzzed in without scans (if it malfunctions, say) often cannot get FP's if the CM doesn't remember to validate the ticket as well.

It may work for FP machines disconnected from the main system (few and far between) and Soarin' won't be one of them.

That said, you can try - if the CM is in a good mood he may let you. It will be up to their discretion.

When I was there in August, FPs for Soarin' were gone by early afternoon - and the FP times were very far into the evening at noon time. You might have to rethink your plan if you don't get your FPs early enough.

Exactly right!!!! Soarin' is the new ride. Which means like Test Track was, the most busiest!!!You need to hit Soarin' 1st thing in the morning if you have a hopper ticket! If you don't your gonna wait a long time or the FP will be out not that much later in the afternoon! Seriously!!!
