Is it true that no matter how many people are in a park, they'll still let a guest of a Disney resort enter?

I heard there were stages of closing. Does anyone know what they are?

I'm going on the 4th of July. Does anyone know how the crowds generally are? Could it be so crowded that the parks will be full to capacity? Any reccomendations on which park I should go to that day?

Last year we went to the MK around 11 pm and stayed until closing. The CM on the tram back to the parking lot said that they had closed for a few hours that afternoon. I think he said from around 2 pm until about 4 pm or 5 pm, but I'm not positive. Maybe someone who was there will remember.

As far as I know, none of the other parks closed. We hung out at the resort pool until about 3 pm, then went to MGM for the fireworks.

If a park reaches capacity, no one is admitted, even resort guests. This happens only rarely, but it happened on NYE day at MK by 10:00am for the past two years(we were at WDW, but went to MGM/Epcot for NYE). On Christmas day 1996 we were at MK and had PS at LTT at 6pm, but planned on meeting friends around 5:30 to touch base. We never did touch base that night because they tried to get into park at 4:30 and were not allowed to enter(we were both resort guestOKW & CBR). This is really only seen around a holiday, but July 4th can be very crowded at MK. Just realize that having a PS means nothing if the park is closed to admissions due to capacity.
