Park Entertainment Cuts Have Been Confirmed

I will see the muppets on my upcoming trip and sad to see it's ending.
We have been 4 times and I have never seen the Royal Majesty Makers so you can't miss what you haven't seen (that's for me)

I never even heard of the Royal Majesty Makers!

I love Muppets, but I confess I just did not see the appeal of standing in the sun to watch and never did.

As I've said in the past Muppets doesn't have enough of a following anymore. Disney also plans to replace the Muppets section in Hollywood Studios with Monsters Inc as well.
I haven't heard that one yet
Though honestly the real solution would be to see the Muppets to a company who will give them the love and care they deserve and use the money from the sale to buy the Spiderman film rights from Sony (okay I know that's not how businesses work but it's a pipe dream)
I'm just waiting for "the ball to drop" and read that Spaceship Earth will be closing in October as well.
I was really waiting for them to announce at D23 that it was closing Spetember 30th with Illuminations

While these things may be in the works, I don't consider someone's Disney blog post as an 'official' confirmation of the plans. What I have seen in the past was one blog posts something as 'factual' and then several others run with it giving credibility to what started out as speculation.

If you’re referring to the confirmed news in the original post of this thread, it’s confirmed by CMs who are losing their roles in:

Muppets Present
Royal Majesty Makers
DJ’s Dance Party
and Up!
*MiSi performers will have their hours shortened

If you’re referring to Spaceship Earth, has anyone Tweeted about that?

Had this in our plans for November, bummer! Will send an email as well to share my disappointment with the powers that be.

I hate that closures like this are announced with such short notice. People who don't get to take trips multiple times per year end up missing their last chance to experience their favorite things, and people who were in the middle of planning a trip suddenly lose out on something they were looking forward to. Crossing my fingers that the rumors are wrong and Muppets 3D will still be there whenever I go next.

IF Muppet Vision 3D is being removed I would be shocked if they did it before Rise and Runaway Railway are open.

This post is about an atmosphere performance that takes place in Liberty Square, not about a major attraction. I really enjoyed the show a few times, but I haven't seen more than a few dozen people actually show up for the performance to start. And maybe a few dozen more who happened to be walking by while it was in progress decided to actually stop and watch to the end.

And I would prefer that it kept running, but atmospheric shows like this come and go all the time. The headline that it's a cut is accurate, but for those implying that it's cost cutting, we really don't know that. Nobody on these boards ever speaks about new entertainment as "budget increases," like when this show premiered. By all means, you're right to express disappointment and tell Disney that you want it to continue, of course. But the number of atmosphere shows in the park are ever changing and don't just go in one direction downward.

Oh and by the way, I don't think we can draw any general conclusions that the Muppets in general being cut or downplayed based on this one thing.

It seems Disney now believes that people want to pay to be entertained, but not learn anything along the way. As a former teacher, I know it is easy to make lessons fun and entertaining. Disney is getting away from all things educational. I confess Hall of Presidents has always been boring to me, but The American Adventure is a classic (hope it never closes!), and Muppets Great Moments was wonderful. With Epcot going the way of entertainment now, it seems some of the great minds at Disney could sneak in a few ways to educate as well as entertain.

wait! What? Is 'Up! the bird show' getting cancelled? It would be great to have Flights of Wonder back again!

Up the bird show is not getting cancelled, they are changing it. and it's reopening in a week with those changes. The characters will still be there

My grandson was chosen to pull the sword out so it has special memories for us- and the character interaction was just the best. Very sad to see it go.

For me, Muppets was funny, but it wasn’t something I felt the need to repeat.

I'm going to disagree with the bolded. Over the past 10 years we have seen a steady decline in atmosphere entertainment, and while some things have been added it has been more the cuts than the additions
Just off the top of my head:
MK:
Giggle Gaggle Clowns
Spectromagic/ MSEP
Train Welcome show
Epcot:
Fife and Drum
Candy Lady in Japan
Ziti Sisters in Italy
Flag show in Italy
World Showcase Players Italy and UK
China Acrobats (still there but shows greatly reduced)
Off Kilter (replaced by several acts)
DHS:
Four for a Dollar (pre B&B show)
Hollywood Public Works troupe
reduction in Citizens of Hollywood sets and actors
Mulch Sweat and Shears
afternoon parade
AK:
Jammin Jungle Parade

So sad to see Great Moments go...:sad1: I have to say though I wouldn't miss any of the dance parties if they decided to cut them all. At least they've left Epcot alone for the most party...for now.
