Park crowds

Hi, I know similar questions have been asked before but can I be a bit more specific. We are writing our itinerary and using the park crowd matrix (ie, light, average or busy days) provided by Simon V. The question is, is this information still relevant to October or is there no such thing as a 'busy' day in October? For example, do the waterparks still get busy Friday to Sunday?

Thanks

Good question. We have been in Oct a few times and have experienced very busy days. For example Saturday at MK in Oct was just as busy as it was in June. I would imagine it would be a similar story with the Water Parks, as a lot of locals have APs and use them regularly at weekends. If your itinerary allows it, try to schedule water parks for mid week. We have never done the Disney water parks very much (just one visit to TL) but Wet n Wild was certainly very busy on the weekends we visited in October.

Some parks are better at managing the crowds, and even on the busiest of busy days Epcot never seems un-doable. Same with MGM. We tend to pick these for weekends now.

Thanks, we've heard that October is becoming more popular and so the crowds are to be expected. I suppose the real bonus is the more tollerable weather (hurricane's allowing!) We are going for 3 weeks and so we should be able to shuffle our days around the weekends and, of course Columbus Day. By the way, do you know if the malls have sales over Columbus Day weekend? We're thinking they may do as they must have lost a lot of custom over the Labour Day weekend.

Thanks again.

We have been in October before and found it a good time to visit.

The weather is hot but very bearable, unlike the humid summer months.
Rainfall tends to be a bit less also.

As far as the Water Parks are concerned generally they are best avoided at weekends when they can be packed, especially during the summer - probably less so in October but we tend to just stay clear on Saturdays and Sundays.

I know this is a very selfish question and my heart and prayers go out to all people affected by this hurricane season, but is this october likely to be unusually busy due to holidays being delayed.

To be honest I will just be glad to get there and everything/one be safe and well, but I was just a bit curious.

:sunny: :D

This is just my opinion - but I think that the next U.S. holiday will be very busy.
We were in Magic Kingdom on Monday (Labour Day) and because people had either cut short their plans or not bothered to come and also the "Locals" were rather busy repairing damage to their property - we virtually had the place to ourselves!!

We arrived at @5.00p.m. and by 8.00p.m. had completed ALL the major rides (ALL WALK ON's). Splash, BTMR, Country Bears, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Indy Cars, Winnie the Pooh, Cinderella's, Mickeys Filmharmagic, Teacups, Carousel, Goofy's Barnstormer, Both Mickey & Minnie's Houses and rode the Railroad as well - all inside 3 x hours!

So I would guess that anyone who missed their weekend WILL be back later if they are able to do so.

bear in mind the latter half of october is when schools have half term so it can get mucho busy.
