Park Crowds

We are going the last week of March. Makes me very nervous but at least I am mentally prepared for the worst!

In 2009 we did the week right before Easter for our honeymoon. I remember it being crowded but not insane.

My honeymoon at Disney was the same week :D I remember being at MK for the evening EMH and it was awesome. The park was nearly empty at midnight. It was a great trip.

We don't have spring break until the week after Easter. Those who have spring break now, do y'all not get a week off for Easter? Just curious.

Our spring break is always the third week of April, regardless of when Easter falls. We also get Good Friday off if it doesn't fall during our vacation week.

Same here, last week of March and first week of April. I'm preparing for the worst, and hope that in doing so, I will be pleasantly surprised.

Our spring break is always a week before the Easter regardless of when the Easter falls. We went last year during the spring break 3/18~26 and we knew going in it's going to be crowded. We took advantage of EMH and rope drop and moved to non EMH park. We also took long afternoon breaks and got back to the park after dinner for fireworks and night EMH. We had a blast and really enjoyed non-humid weather (but definitely warmer than the northeast). We are also going back this year 4/7~4/15, knowing the fact that it's going to be busy and crowded.

In another thread someone suggested that it could be because of the cold snap in Florida. All the spring breakers who would typically have chosen to hit the beach or pool are freezing so choosing to go to Disney - causing the parks to go nuts. I've been in March twice and its been very crowded but usually manageable. What I'm hearing sounds like Christmas Week-level crowds!

I tend to agree with this. Was quite concerned Epcot would be a madhouse today because of the reports posted the last few days but it wasn't too bad around World Showcase especially early in the afternoon like I expected it would be. Still very busy but manageable though, but definitely a great pool/water park day, very hot sun;)

I was at a university where we had spring break in the middle of march lke most of USA. Now I moved to a different part of country where we have break the week after easter. It's either one or the other. not both. that's too much time off. It that were the case we would'nt get out of school til mid June lol ew no

Thx for the replies. Not sure why I thought everywhere had the same schedule.

Our district gets only one of those weeks (third week in April) and we still don't get out until mid/late June (19th this year). A few years ago the last day of school was June 27th because of makeup snow days.

Me too! I added waterpark tix and am staying at a resort with a great pool just in case of a high crowd volume. Unfortunately, only 2 days during my entire stay (10 nights) is the MK and Epcot open late :(

You might double check that. When I booked my FP at 60 days, MK was closing at 9 most nights. I just double checked the hours, and during my stay (March 26-April 9) MK is open every night until 11 except on Sunday the 26th and SUnday the 2nd, when it closes at 10. MK has EMH until 1am on both of the Wednesdays. And I'm sure that it's similar or later the week after.

We will be there 3/22- 3/28 & am wondering if it will be a little less crowded? I also am going in expecting the worst - we have never gone this 'late'. Usually Jan or feb so even when I booked it I knew it would be busy but I am getting a bit worried now!!
I know ropedrop is always the best option but what would you say is the second best time to be in the parks? I tend to think the later the better - especially EMH evenings. If MK is onpen till 1 I have high hopes the crowds will thin if we can make it that long! We are 5 adults so I'm just hoping everyone else with kids goes to bed by then!! ::yes::

I was in WDW the week after Easter 2015 and will be there the week before Easter this year. On my 2015 trip, the parks were all 9s and 10s the whole week according to the Touringplans crowd calendar. I just check this past week out of curiosity. Yep...all 9s and 10s Monday 3/13 through Friday 3/17. That is as bad as it gets over Christmas/New Years and Easter Week!

Maybe actual Easter Week won't be as bad this year? A girl can hope!

WOW! Thanks. Ill take a look now! Yes, it showed 9 when I look with EMH on Wednesdays until 11.

I too am very closly watching the crowd levels since we leave 4-1 first time at this time of year and am very worried about how busy it will be
Ive also been checking the FP+ for our stay and theres still plenty of openings maybe not for the most popular but for sure enough to get

still some crowd calendars have our stay listed as 7s or moderate we shall see

Im actually looking forward to next yrs trip since well be able to go back at our usual end of Jan time
