Park Crowds in December

How busy are the parks the first 2 weeks in December after Thanksgiving?

I am curious about this too. We are going Dec 18-23 and I am assuming it will be as crowded then as it is right now, peek summer when school is out. I am curious if others who have been at that time would consider that an accurate assessment?

I’ve been watching wait times for the past week. FOP in AK wait times are at 195 minutes as I write this. Also, what I think I have learned by studying these wait times is that it is best to not be in a park with early entry. Lines seem to be better in the other parks on those mornings.

Please advise or correct me if I am wrong. I’m about to start planning our touring plan. Normally I’m not that meticulous but I fear it’s a necessity for that time of year.

We haven't been in early December in awhile, but the later you go in December, the more crowded it will become.

It is going to be very crowded, much worse than it is now. Summer is actually off peak at Disney. During our trip with similar dates last year, FOP had somewhere between at 3-5 hour wait depending on the day. Early hours are nice, but it is true the park seems more crowded as the day goes on. We typically don't take advantage of early hours.

Crowd levels for the months Oct - Dec of this year will be more crowded then usual due to Stars Wars opening. Hollywood Studios will be crazy! Make sure your Fastpasses are in order.

We are going this year Dec 10-21 ( but have been before for a Christmas thru New Years so kinda expect crazy
As crazy as it gets and with a Star Wars I’m on vacation in Fla around holidays
You have to have a plan and go with it

We’ve been going during that time frame with few exceptions for over 2 decades. As others have said, the Star Wars opening is going to act like steroids on crowds. Those weeks, though less busy in comparison to summer and holidays is getting very busy now. People have discovered the extra magic of Disney in holiday splendor and its really not any less busy than one would hope. And even less so now w Galaxy’s Edge.

There are no non-busy times anymore. Just less busy than others. The word is out on early Dec..

Going the 7-14th this year and I'm expecting it to be pretty busy, at least at MK and HS. We are spending 2 full days at each park and just 1 day at Epcot and AK.

Just have to have FP selections made and a good plan and hope for the best. Going into it knowing it's going to be busy will help things out.
