It probably sounds petty or snobbish, but part of our choosing a deluxe resort was the transportation perks. Have any of you experienced this? Does it happen frequently or did I get a bad week?
Where did you acquire the "knowledge" that Deluxe resorts offer their guests the shortest walks between bus stops and park entrances?
If THAT is one of the reasons you paid extra for a Deluxe, then my most helpful suggestion for the future is to ask more questions on the DISboards and read more posts, so that you make the best possible informed decisions. Facts beat assumptions any day.
And by the way, for my last stay last May, I stayed at a moderate, CBR. At MK, we were one of the closest bus stops, on an end (with Seven Seas Lagoon to your right, the CBR bus stop was the first stop on the row closest to Seven Seas Lagoon). At Epcot, we were I think the very farthest bus stop from the entrance -- I'm not certain we were still in Florida. At MGM, we were pretty close to the entrance but not the closest. At AK, we were pretty far from the entrance but not the farthest.
From those facts, I just assumed that every resort had a sort of mixed bag of distances between bus stops and park entrances.
And for the record, when I stay at a Moderate resort, I don't feel entitled to ANY service over and above the folks staying at Value Resorts, except of course for the amenities in/of the resort I'm staying at.
I own a nice house, but I live in a resort town with multi-million dollar beach front and bayfront homes. The owners of those homes pay much more in property taxes than I do. I don't think that means that my kids should get lower-grade school bus service than the kids who live on the beach or the bay.
