Park before check in??

We can't check in at Old Key West until 4, but we plan to arrive around noon that day. Will our magic bands work if we want to visit a park before checking in?

I think your magic bands will, but if you are on a dining plan, none of that portion will work.

ETA: Your Magic bands will work for entry, but I don't think they'll work for charging. Someone will correct me if I am wrong.

You can check-in any time after 6 am, your room just won't be ready. If you leave the front desk a cell number, they will text you the room number when it is ready. We have arrived early, dropped our bags with baggage service and headed to the park for the day.

Also, you will have to pay for parking at the park. However, if you've done online check-in before you arrive, you can stop by the check-in desk and say that you just need your parking pass.

Perfect! I have MDX and plan on doing online check in, but I'll just stop by the front desk and let them know we're there before we head to the parks.

DO IT! We checked in around nine in the morning, and were in the park before 10 am. Almost a full day!

I would go check in. We have checked in as early as 7am...they will give you are parking pass for the car and you can go do what ever you want. Your room may even be ready...

This - we usually arrive around 11ish and I've been doing online check in with an arrival time of 10 AM. I may be lucky as I don't request anything special but I can easily check in, the room is ready, I get all my stuff and the rest of the day is mine.

Also - if your room isn't ready (and that's a possibility depending on what you want), Disney will simply text or call you later with your room number. Absolutely no reason to visit the front desk when you return to the resort.
