Hello,

I was flying Jet Blue out of Portland, Me, and then my flight got cancelled. Since I live 5 hours away, an earlier time wasn't doable.

An option is to fly out of Boston. Jet Blue will tranfer my tickets at no cost.

So my concern is getting to Logan.

My first choice would be a park and fly facility North of the city that would take me to the airport.

My second choice is a reputable motel with a fair rate (less than $150) for Stay and fly.

Any suggestons?

Try the Holiday Inn Boston-Logan or Comfort Suites-Logan Airport. I think both have Park + Fly.

Thanks for the heads up. That is defintely more what I was thinking. The stay and Fly motels in Boston are expensive. :scared1:

Has anyone used this to know how safe a vehicle would be. Its a dodge minivan, so theft is the last of my worry.

I use the Braintree Logan Express quite often, and feel that my vehicle is safe. We've never had any trouble or problems.

We use Preflight parking every time we fly out of Logan now. It's very reasonable with shuttles that run often. They always have a coupon for 25% off on their website. They are located in Chelsea a few miles from Logan.

Logan express would be an option for you

They have shuttles buses from both Peabody and Woburn north of Boston

How do you plan to get south of Portland? 95? Then you'll want the Peabody location. 'Listen' carefully. You will want to take the Centre Street exit in Danvers off 95. Bear/turn right; at the end of the street (facing a hotel on a hill) turn right; at the the end of that road turn right again. You will only be on each road for a few hundred feet. This will take you to Route 1 south. You do NOT want to stay on 95, even to merge directly onto Route 1. The roads merge JUST past the Logan Express entrance! You'll never be able to cut over safely.

Oh, yeah. The rest of the directions :) There'll be a concrete wall on your left as you approach the merge. The Logan Express terminal is just before the two roads meet, on your right.

:goodvibes Can you be more specific?

As I read this post, the voice in my head went from my own to my wife's. :rotfl:

All kidding aside, this is excellent. Thank you sincerely.

Same here. I haven't used the ones north of Boston but I used Braintree many times for business trips and leave my van there.

We use them all the time... and I post there stuff here a few times...

I never had any trouble with them and even before I made my reservation I called the hotel and asked for there prices and I had better ones from them...

So call the hotels and ask them for prices.. see what you think ....

Another vote of confidence for PrFlight Parking in Chelsea. We use them all the time. We have left our car there many times, even over a week and never had any problem. The van picks you up and drops you off right at your car. The run approximately every 5 minutes.
We live close to the Framingham Logan Express, but we have found that for 4 of us it is cheaper to drive and park for a week than to take the shuttle and park. Check out your options.
Have a Great Trip

Actually, I'm going to New Hampshire today and can (try to) note the mileage as well. There's even a less-confusing way to get from 95 to 1, you're just on Route 1 a few miles longer.

I'm bored, and I have 3/4 of a tank of gas :teeth:

Oh! I forgot! There's a park/ride/fly lot in Newburyport, just off 95 on 133 (take the 133 exit east, toward Newburyport - once you get over 95, look for the lot on your left) that may even originate in Portsmouth.

Okay, here goes.

From the "Welcome to Massachusetts" sign at the NH/MA border, it's 20.3 miles to Exit 50 - Routes 1 and 62. From when you get on the ramp to Logan Express, it's another 3.1 miles (24.4 total, state border to Logan Express in Peabody, although my odometer did turn over from .4 to .5 as I was approaching). Stay on Route 1.

And, the Newburyport Park & Fly is off Route 113, not 133 :upsidedow. It's the first exit after you go over the Merrimac River, and you'll know when you do because there's a steel-frame bridge over it. If you get to Route 133, you've gone too far.
