Hi All-
We just returned from WDW, staying in a 1BR villa at the WL. We met with DVC rep and our now going back and forth on membership. my question to you all is how do you handle park admission? Is there a LOS pass avaiable to DVC reservations or do you purchase the hopper that would best suit your needs?

Also another question-do many of you transfer out and visit other locations available. How have you found them? When we were sitting through the presentation, I saw Atlantis on the screen but it is not in the book-is that an available location to anyone's knowledge.

If you can respond asap-there is a 1500 credit if we commit by tomorrow. thanks in advance!

We buy Annual Passes and get at least two trips in on each one. For example, last year we went the first week of December and our APs were activated on 11/30/02. This year we are going in October so our passes are still good. We will purchase new APs next December and repeat the above scenario. Of course this year we also snuck down to WDW in May (still using those lovely APs!) so we got an extra trip in. DVC members are able to purchase length-of-stay passes (10% off I believe) and park hopper passes, just like regular guests.

We have used our points at every DVC property (except BCV...we'll stay there sometime in the future), on Disney Cruise Line and at the Disneyland Hotel. All have been great. We also used our DVC points at the Animal Kingdom Lodge last year. We had been booked on the Disney Magic that was cancelled due to the Norwalk Virus and couldn't get a room at any DVC property on such short notice. I wouldn't use my points for non-DVC, WDW resort stays on a regular basis, but it was a nice option in this case!

There is a Ultimate Park Hopper (LOS) pass available at DVC resorts with a 10% discount for members.

Many purchase the AP, many find regular hoppers more practical for their needs and some like the UPH pass.

Good luck with your decision.

We will be buying a Ultimate Park Hopper pass (6 day). with this pass if we don't use all of the days you can use them at anytime of the year, be it 2003 or 2004 because they don't expire untill you use all of the days on the pass. :Pinkbounc

The Ultimate Park Hopper expires at the end of your stay. It includes admission to all Disney Theme Parks, Water Parks, Pleasure Island, Disney Quest and Wide World of Sports complex. DVC members can purchase it at their resort with the discount and have been allowed to drop first or last day (usually both) if desired. This pass definitely expires on your day of checkout- it is encoded on your room ID.

There are other Hopper Passes that do not expire, but there is no DVC discount for those.

We usually travel to WDW every January and sometimes take a fall trip as well.

The best deal for us is to buy an AP. We buy it at the DS and activate the voucher when we arrive at WDW. We will plan one trip for later in JAnuary, and the next year plan for earlier in January. That gives us at least two full trips on one AP. Often, in a year, we will add a fall trip. Bear in mind that the renewal, while cheaper, is not a good deal if you only go once a year. That is why we usually take a break inbetween passes. For instance, our pass ran out after our January trip this year. We did not renew, but purchased vouchers, and will activate them on next January's trip. Then we will visit in October and again the next January on that pass. WE usually get a minimum of 20 days per pass, and have had as many as 30. It is really nice to get that per day park cost down below $20!
