I have never been to Europe, but am seriously considering a July trip....5 days in Paris and 2 days in DLP. I would love some hotel recommendations for Paris itself, within walking distance of most of the major museums, Eiffel Tower, etc. We don't mind walking at all, and would prefer that to the metro. We would spend the 5 days in Paris first, then take the train to DLP (stay at Disneyland Hotel) and then go to the airport from there. Would also love any suggestions on discounts for the Disney portion of the trip. This is all very new for me, and traveling as a single mom, safety will be my top priority - I don't want to end up staying in any sketchy areas.

Thanks!!

2 Days in DLP sounds about right. If you can, make the days you visit midweek for slightly lower crowds (although only slightly, at this time of the year).

The Disneyland Hotel will be amazing (I've never stayed there, but I've 'roamed the halls' enough!) - it is extremely expensive however! The off-site options are very appealing due to the RER system which links Disneyland Paris with Val D'Europe in a 5-minute ride - but you may not like the thought of going there late at night if safety is your top priority.

Space Mountain will likely have just re-opened from a 6-month refurbishment by the time you arrive, so that will be exciting for you to experience when you arrive.

Paris is very walkable and small compared to many cities. If you stay in what we call "Tourist Central" you can easily get from one place to another but you might prefer in the end to take the buses because even really fit people who walk a lot find that they get tired in Paris :goodvibes

I'd suggest going onto TA and the Paris forum and ask them for recommondations, giving your budget in €s.

In July wether you go midweek or weekends won't make any difference as it's the summer holidays for France, Spain and Italy so the parks will be busy ;) Plus if it's end of July you'll have the UK and Ireland

Rather than take the RER to VdE there is a bus - Peps 50 - which runs from the parcs to the Hiparc hotel, Adagio and Hotel Elysées for free so that saves you 1,85€ for the trip.

The area is very safe and is always teeming with people coming back from Disney right up to the closing.
