paris? how does it.compare?

It's beautiful! We are DL vets so are used to a huge courtyard bare of any landscaping. The entrance to DLP and Hollywood Studios is amazing.

All of the CMs we met were genuinely friendly and attempted their best English to converse with us.

Be sure to check out the Castle - the DLP Castle has a dungeon which can be toured. We had a great time there; checked out there DTD area. The hotels are within walking distance but not as close to the parks as in DL.

Enjoy your trip!

It's hard to keep them down on the farm once they've seen Paree'.

Top 5 Reasons to visit Disneyland Paris:

5. Sleeping Beauty Castle (including Dragon's Lair)
4. Thunder Mountain (cool version on an island)
3. Pirates of the Caribbean (longer version similar to DL in CA)
2. Space Mountain (best version of all the parks IMO)
1. Disney Dreams (like "Wishes," "World of Color," and "Music, Memories, & You" all combined into one show)

Spent two days in Disneyland Paris last November, can't wait to plan another trip back.

DD is dying to go because she has read that DLP's HM is the most well-themed and scariest of all the HM's.

DH does not think going to Paris should warrant a trip to DLP, but we are working on him.

We went to DLP on a free day while we were touring with a group. It was well worth it because we felt we couldn't be in Paris without going to DLP, and, my friends gifted DH and me with tickets as a retirement gift to me.

Your DD is correct about HM! The theming inside and out is amazing!!

Oh I see. There are 2 Paris threads going. I responded to the other one but wanted to add something so I'll add it to this one.

Their fireworks show at the end of the night is the best one of any park, anywhere, hands down. It blew our socks off.

They project on the castle, it is fantastic. If you go, do not leave early and miss this. It is the most beautiful and awesome fireworks and music show. Puts Wishes to shame.

lots of positive views. I'll add a somewhat negative one

DLP is a very good park if you're willing to accept that :
- there is no stage show of any kind
- there is no electrical parade
- stores on main street are closed until 1pm
- many restaurants are closed at 7pm
- there is a dozen character to meet, but you'll need to learn how to push your kid in front of them (and engage into a brawl with the familiy standing next to you) if you want an autograph and a picture (no lines, all shoving and pushing)

other than that (and a few other things) it's the most beautiful Disney park in the world, this much is true.
It's a fab place, but don't get overexcited and if you're a WDW or DLR regular, you will still have a wonderful time, but don't expect to find the "streetmosphere" and experience you have back home.

If you're willing to accept that, you'll have the most wonderful time ever.

We're just back from a 4 day visit and have been many times previously. I haven't been to WDW or DL so I can't offer a comparison, but I think the fact that we keep going back speaks for itself ;)

It's true that there are no live shows anymore which is a shame, but there are a couple in the Studios park which are good.

The stores in Main St were open before 1pm this week - maybe it's a seasonal thing?

Walts, one the best restaurants, was open well past 7pm - again maybe seasonal.

Some of the character meets can be a bit of a scrum, but I noticed that some of the characters did insist on a queue. There are some proper meets around the park that are fine.

I think the park is absolutely beautiful, the castle is stunning with a scary dragon beneath :scared1: BTM is fantastic too :thumbsup2 We always stay on site and everything is close enough to walk between parks/village and hotels easily, without going into the 'real world' :lmao: I've just done my latest trip report, link on my sig, if you want a brief overview of what it's like.

Hope you have fun if you decide to go :goodvibes
