I think my other issue with NBC’s broadcast specifically is that it seems like whoever is cutting from camera to camera has the attention span of a toddler on a sugar high. 2 seconds on one thing, 2 seconds on something else, and by the time you figure out what you are watching it is already onto something else. The artistic portions have been particularly bad about it.

There’s a lot going on between the performances and the boats.
We’ve been flipping back and forth between CBC and NBC, just trying to avoid commercials.

I've noticed that certain shots seem to have some digital artifacts - probably the rain itnerfering, so they cut away to a better image. I think the BMX/skatebooard guys had to tone it down becuase of the rain.

I almost wish that they had themed broadcast options - focus on performing, focus on boats, personal interviews, etc. I know there’s a lot going on, but I feel like I’m missing a lot based on what is being shown.

While there have been a few cool parts, most has been weird, NBC’s broadcast has been awful, and while I don’t expect the entire world to be like Disney I didn’t really expect to have to explain a threesome to my kids this afternoon.

Threesome?! why was that mentioned in the opening ceremony?

I haven't watched yet. We will pull it up on streaming tonight and sort of skim through it. I like watching all of the athletes walking out.

It wasn’t mentioned. But ménage a trois was implied in a pre taped sketch.
I didn’t think it was a big deal.

It was like a thing on Paris, City of Romance, and some stuff was implied as three people were kind of dancing together then enter a hotel room and close the door. I mean, Paris, right?

Kudos to all these dancers/performers for keeping it together through all the rain and puddles. I was worried that someone would fall, but I don’t think I’ve even seen a misstep.

I am sure they will - they still have like almost two hours to go.

We plan to watch the opening ceremonies tonight. Is it really a bit racy at times? Remember that Europeans are usually less prudish than Americans.

I root for the Dutch and Norwegians. The Americans winning doesn’t bother me lol but they win a lot anyway. I hope we get decent coverage. I remember one time when all they seemed to show was American performances and their reactions and little of other countries. Not good.
