I’m not sure I’d say excited, but I’m interested to see how we do. I much prefer the Winter Olympics, but I do like watching the diving events. Basically, I’ll have the tv on and will maybe pay attention to what catches my eye.

The NBC Olympics and CBC Olympic schedule links should make it easy for you to see the events for the day. We in the USA have around 5 tv stations that show the Olympic events live in addition to the Peacock (owned by NBC Universal) streaming service that shows all Olympic events in one place. Does the CBC also have a streaming service like that? I'm happy this year that team USA events will be on the iheart radio stations this year as well. I think I read that CBC radio will do the same thing for team Canada .

Canada has over 300 athletes competing in this Summer Olympics so you will have many options to cheer for team Canada. I do expect the USA to beat you guys in most events though. No offense.

It’s not the first time that someone challenges your view of the US being #1 and you respond as you did. This thread would be awesome if we could all talk about the Olympics as a whole and keep the rah rah USA out of it, but I don’t think you can help yourself. I’ll check in in a few days and see how it’s going.

I have great respect for your athletes and even wished them luck on this thread. Am I excited to root for my country in the Olympics? Absolutely. Do I think team USA is stronger than team Canada in most sporting events? Yes, but I don’t devalue any athlete for being from any particular country unless they are unethical people. This thread is for all who love the Olympics, no matter their country. Feel free to post articles/links/videos for team Canada. It would be more than welcomed. I'm a patriotic supporter of all our ethical athletes and their sports. I also love learning about sports in general and watch rarely televised sports as well. We can passionately root our fellow citizens on without thinking any country is anthing but equal overall in the end.

In rugby, the USA tied France and then lost to Fiji. The US U-23 men's soccer team lost expectedly to France. More rugby and soccer will be played tomorrow. Check your local listings.
