Parents of tweens....is SDD a one-and-done or multiple rides?

Night Riding can make a difference on most outdoor coasters. EE and BTMRR are completely different rides after dark and as with most coasters, much better. I enjoy both of those for what they are and SDD for what it is. I dont go expecting it to be Mako, Manta, Kumba, etc. I go expecting a solid ride on a well themed attraction. SDD delivers that, at an albeit much smaller scale than EE and BTMRR. Still worth a ride at least once.

We didn't have FPs when we went after it first opened, it was a hot and humid day in Aprill and the standby line was pretty long. DGD and her bestie, ages 13 and 12, watched the ride a few minutes and decided it wasn't "good enough" to wait for in the baking sun ( they really need trees or canvas canopies there!). We skeedadled over to the twirling aliens ride instead just because the line was shorter and had more shade. That ride was more fun than any of us thought it would be.

We tried the strategy of going just before park close last week and although it was cooler the line was too long for us to want to wait.

I think the ride is pretty short, the dips not comparable to the thrills of any of the Mountain rides at MK and that once the SWGE rides open the lines will drop drastically and then we'll go.

Shoot we loved it (15yr old). We are Cedar Point coaster people (well I am not lol) and my daughter enjoyed slinky a lot. It isn’t big or fast but it is just plain fun. We wouldn’t wait in a very long line for it but we also wouldn’t really do that for anything.

My boys are now 26, 22, 20 and 17. They love the coasters, safari and most everything, SDD included. I can still get them on Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan. They’re good sports. However, we haven’t been on It’s a Small World in ten years.

This is the biggest joy of Disney for me. My 13 year old is at a stage in his life where he has to act like he is the most grown-up and reserved person in the room at all times. Except at Disney. He gets excited, packs all his Mickey shirts, carries his pins for trading, hugs the characters, rides things I would never think he would. And THAT is why I will continue to pay whatever they ask of me to take my kids to WDW. Worth every darn penny.

My DS13 and DS6 like the ride, and us adults enjoy it too. But it is not something we need multiple rides on. They would rather do multiple rides on RnR and they also really enjoy Star Tours and even TSM (they are very competitive).

It is my favorite ride in Disney World. I absolutely love it. It is not a one and done for me. We are taking my 11 year old next month and he hasn't ridden it before so I hope to ride it multiple times. It is a hard to get fastpass. We couldn't get one until day 6 of our vacation.
