Parents of preschoolers and toddlers. . . help me decide

Does anyone know whether there is a beach at the WL where my 2 year old could dig in the sand? I honestly think that digging on the beach at the Poly was the highlight of his Disney vacation.

There is definitely a beach at WL. Great for digging, or watching the water parade at night!

I am guessing the newly 5 year old might not like the slide, but I was hoping our almost 8 year old would love it.

We put a life jacket on our 4 yr/old son and could not get him off the slide at the Poly...he absolutely loved it.

POFQ is a terrific resort for families with little kids and, as you say, it is a lot cheaper than the deluxe resorts. We stayed at POFQ when our kids were the age of yours and it was great. The resort is compact and very pretty & photogenic, we enjoyed the food courts at both POFQ & its adjacent sister resort PO (then called Dixie Landing) and we had excellent bus experiences. There were always seats on the buses because they stop at POFQ first, before PO. The pool is a dream for little kids -- it is built around a huge magic dragon and his tongue is a very gentle waterslide. Llittle kids are crazy about it. Our kids would have been happy to stay in the pool all the time. (Truly.) We all also enjoyed the pool at PO, but the POFQ waterslide kept calling the kids back. Also, the boat to downtown Disney was a huge hit with them--and us, of course. POFQ is a lovely resort, but now our kids are 11 and 12 and have outgrown the pool. Yours are the perfect age for it.
