I just saw this thread on another board, and was thinking - Hey, I need cheap things to do too!! I know one night we will be going to Kimonos (with AAA we get like 20% off!!!) but there will be other nights we are free (both sets of grandparents are coming with us). One suggestion was to go to the French bakery, get some paistries, find a quiet place to sit, and just relax. That is cheap, and a good idea, but I'm looking for a little more..... So what are your great ideas on cheap things that a couple can do? Doesn't have to be free, just nothing that will break our wallets!!!

TIA
Sarah

I love the idea of this thread. I need suggestions too.

We are staying at OKW, so I was thinking the boat ride from OKW to Downtown Disney might be nice.

We are at POFQ and we also get the boat from our hotel to DTD. I'm sure we will spend at least one night doing that!!

Go to epcot and do the adult things you wouldn't do with your children. Walk slowly and take in the atmosphere. Stop and have a drink-snack-dessert without having to share with the kids. Shop in crystal shops without fear of breakage. Go to the Boardwalk and walk around the lake. It's so much different when you can not worry about the children and selfishly enjoy it for yourself

If you have length of stay park tickets, I would spend a nice evening at EPCOT. DH and I did this last trip while my mom watched the kids. It was a EMH night and we first walked around world showcase having a few drinks. We then went to the future world part and got to go on Soarin' and Test Track without wait. Walking hand in hand with DH in an empty park was the best thing ever. We did some pictures at each country and added them to our photopass. The pictures at night are my favorite because of the beautiful lights all around us.

An evening of mini golf without the kids can be fun. Go for just coffee and dessert at any of the nicer eateries (California Grill, Artist's Pallette, etc.) and then stroll the resrot in the moonlight. Take the stroll from POFQ to riverside (you can take your swimsuits and go for a dip in one of riversides pools--not hte main one and then there will be few if any kids). Enjoy the live music at the bar in POFQ. Go sit on the beach at the Poly and watch the Electrical water pageant and then have a drink at the Koan cafe.

I love the idea of a cheap "date night at Disney" but our problem is that we aren't bringing Grandparents along, so we have to splurge for the childcare. I don't think DH will understand $100+ for a babysitter so we can go for a stroll and have a snack.:rotfl2:
But I love to hear the ideas of what you are going to do!
I would do the rides that my young kids are too scared to do, so we skip them during the day. :scared1:
Hope you get more ideas!! and enjoy your night out!

Going to one of the signature restaurants for coffee and dessert is a wonderful idea.

Thanks. We always enjoy getting all the ambiance (and the best part of the meal to boot;) ) for a fraction of the price. Besides, we like eating dinner with the kids:rolleyes1 Of course, now are kids are older and actually want to go to the signature places as well:eek: DS's new favourite after our last trip is Artist's Palette.
