Parents attending College Presentation?

My daughter is hoping to attend a presentation about the CP next month. Is it a good idea for me to attend as well, or is this only for the students? I tried to do a search but couldn't come up with the answer. Thanks!

To be honest, at least at my school, it didnt matter. The fact is all you are doing is watching a presentation of both a movie and a couple speakers and then you sign up for a phone interview so whether you are there or not isnt a big deal. I say go for it because it is a relatively entertaining presentation.

I drove over to the one my daughter went to and walked in with her - it was at the college I attended in another town and I was familiar with the area. As she signed in the reps encouraged me to attend the presentation too.

I know alot of people don't think the presentation is that important and you can just do the web video but I disagree. The presentation was great and the enthusiasm was sky high. There were several other parents there. I will say there was on helicopter parent there as well - she actually got in the line with her daughter to turn in her application and set up her interview time - whereas the other parents hung back and talked among themselves.

i attended the program last spring while i was still a senior in high school with my dad just so he could get a real feel for the program. it made him really excited and supportive lol and there was NO way i'd be able to convince him to watch a 40 minute webvideo.

Go for it!

When I applied for my program there were many parents present. Also, after my program when I was a campus rep we encouraged parents to come with to ask as many questions as they may have about the program.
