"When they entered the attraction, Juan Carlos thought Danette had their daughter, while Danette thought Juan Carlos had her. Shortly after, Juan Carlos went back outside to move the stroller to a designated area, but failed to see the little girl, he told deputies.
The parents only realized their daughter was missing when they exited the ride. "
How is it that they realized she was missing, he went to move the stroller, supposedly didn't find it but decided it was better to hop back in line and ride POTC?![]()
FWIW, I found that part of the newstory really vague. It could be the way you read it.
But I actually read it as the bizarro way many newspaper writers tell their stories, where you start from the middle and slowly work your way into chronology... so the "end" of the story is that each thought the other had her, but the start is that they weren't on the ride together, they were separately riding, and that way it would be very easy to think the other person had the kiddo.
BUT why he thought to go move the stroller is an unknown.
I'm not defending them. But I'm not going to put too much into that paragraph in the story, because it could go either way.
This news breaks just as a horrible horrible woman is finally starting the process of a trial in my area, as she had abused her foster daughter for TEN years. There were multiple complaints over all of those years, even from the police, to CPS, and each and every time, until the very last time (while living in the same apartment complex that we lived in), she told the social workers that the girl was a liar, the complainers were racist and had it out for her, etc etc etc, and they believed her. I'm fairly disgusted by humanity right now....
