Hi all,

I am looking for suggestions for a gift or something special to do for my parents 30th anniversary this November. We will be in the parks that day, and I want to do something special for them. Particularly my mother, she will be in between chemo treatments during that time and this trip is something she really wants to do and her doctor is going to be working her treatments around the trip so she can get a little break from everything and enjoy time with her husband, kids, and grandson. Any suggestions? This is the first week of November, after Halloween and before Christmas so I am expecting it to be not so busy, but still busy due to the 60th.

I really want to make this trip memorable for my mom as this is all she is looking forward to lately. TIA

I always recommend a nice dinner because it gives a chance to focus on each other away from the chaos if you will.

I can't recommend Napa Rose enough - it is kid friendly ( unsure how young the grandson is) and has spectacular service , ambiance and attention to service and food preparation. I've done Chef's Counter and the Vinter's menu , both amazing.

Blue Bayou is another option as it's exclusive to Disneyland , we always enjoy our meal there.

Another option is doing a VIP tour. This is expensive but I hear nothing but great things and definitely could be valuable to maximize park time with an experienced CM.

I don't know what day of the week you will be there, but I'm thinking a Blue Bayou Fantasmic dinner package. If it's not an night that Fantasmic is showing, then just the dinner. It is the most unique and special restaurant. Can't beat the atmosphere. You could order a cake to be delivered to the restaurant for an extra touch.

If you can't afford a VIP tour, you could do one of the regular tours. Not sure of your Mom's stamina though. I hear they walk pretty quickly.

TIA so sorry to hear about your Mother but sending positive prayers for a speedy recovery.

I'm sure just being with you all will be great therapy for her. Just a thought though because I'm imagining she is a little weak and maybe not quite up to full speed -- I would ask her about getting an ECV just in case she get's tired. For the price of them (I think around $40.00 a day) it may make a big difference in how she is able to navigate the parks. My parents are young 70's but we always get them one for use after the second day, it just makes it easier. We have always rented from Deckers and they have been awesome. Also, hopefully you are staying close enough that she can go back to the room for quick breaks and a little rest.

Since I celebrated my 30th last year, I'm going to guess your Mom is around the same age/stage in life as I. What would make me the happiest would just be being with my family and seeing them get along, having fun and loving each other. Just remember, she will appreciate the thoughts and love way more than the actual activity so go with your heart and you will make her happy! I always feel the most loved just knowing my children tried to do something to make me happy - the loving effort is what does it. The other suggestions about BB/Fantasmic! are very good options also and they will allow for some low key time.

:sad::sad: Oh, man....you've got me crying over here.

Thanks for all the suggestions. And 5 for Mickey thanks for your warm thoughts. I agree that everyone together would be the best therapy for her which is why upon learning her diagnosis, one of the first things she was set against cancelling this trip. She would love nothing more than to be at the place she loves.with the people she loves. And also thank you for the suggestion for the ECV,that is one of the things that I was wondering if we would need. Right now she has just started her treatment and has stamina as of now around the house but the park is going to be a whole different situation I am sure.

What about booking a couples' massage at Mandara Spa for them? I bet she would enjoy some pampering...or maybe a facial, etc?

Agree on a relaxing family dinner, a Tour sounds like something fun and unique to do also.
