My parents 50th wedding anniversary is coming up and I am looking for ideas for a unique scrapbook to put together for them. Anyone have any websites to share? Thanks!!

I don't have a website but my parent's 40th is coming up in a few years and I have been talking to my sister about doing something for them that you could try. I am going to do an album called . . . 40 people your lives have touched with a page on each person including some words from them. You would need time to get it done but I think it would be something they could really treasure and it is a way for them to see how they have made a difference in the world.

If you have photos from throughout their marriage you could do a page for each year.

These are both great ideas. I think I can use them both together. Thank you very much!!!!!

I just did one for my parent's 50th last year. It was a lot of work, but I started with several pages with wedding & cake cutting pictures and the wedding announcement. Added some scattered pages of them as a couple at various different times and events from courtship, to sports, to our weddings, etc. I had a page for both sets of parents. Two pages for both children and both grandchildren and one great grandchild. Added a page with pictures of both kids together while small. Used one of the books where you put the name and wedding picture inside the front cover behind plastic. I cut, copied, and cropped a lot of pictures per page. Everyone loved it. I did it on the sly, so had to go steal their pictures to add with my own. It was well worth the work. They would not let us give them a party, and they went on vacation to make sure. But they came home late at night and this was waiting for them. They looked at it twice before they went to bed, and show it to everybody.

I just did a last minute 8x8 album for my parents' 50th. I had originally planned to copy one I had seen on twopeasinabucket.com with a "he said/she said" theme. The idea was to ask each parent things like "what was your first date like?'', or "what first attracted you to your spouse?", etc, but my dad complained about the questions being too personal. So at the last minute, I put together a little "story book" type album Dr. Seusse-style. Basically I started with a wedding picture and some pictures of very early in their marriage. Then I did 6 pages with stuff like Oscar winners of 1956, greatest hits, bestsellers, food prices, fads of the past fifty years, and headlines from 1956. After those I did a page for each of us kids, then pictures of us kids grown up, our kids, etc., and the last page was a picture taken of our entire family at our last reunion. Each page had a silly little rhyme appropriate to the subject of the page. I didn't have a lot of the old pictures, so I only did 20 pages. The whole thing, including researching the historical stuff, took me all of 3 days. I found a lot of the fifty-years-ago stuff at www.fiftiesweb.com and I always search for ideas for layouts and journaling on twopeasinabucket.com. Good luck! Whatever you end up with will be a treasured keepsake.

Okay, you have some really good ideas that I'm stealing. My parents 50th is this Dec. and I am gonna start on the scrapbook. It's crazy I do a disney scrapbook from our trip every yr. and my dd one every yr. and didn't think to do them one. I love the 50s ideas. Thanks a bunch!!

My parent's 50th is this Dec. Off this thread I got some really good ideas about the scrapbooks. We are doing my parents a party and my sister is working on the slide show and we're gonna have pictures of them all around the room and have 50's music playing.
Good Luck and Have fun planning!

For my parents 50th we kids sent out a letter to friends and extended family and asked them to submit pictures, stories, cards etc. and then my sister-in-law put together a scrapbook for them. All of us kids also submitted memories. So much stuff was submitted we actually had enough for two books! The funny thing because all this stuff was being sent behind their backs as the anniversary approached they could't figure out why they weren't hearing from people. We presented them the books at a family dinner.
