Parenthood (TV show)

What caused Julia and Joel to break up in the first place?

A combination of Joel feeling unappreciated and undervalued, Julia not respecting his new job, and Julia getting too close with a father she was volunteering with at the kids' school.

I'm hoping the season finale is a 3 hour long episode! Not ready for it to end. Zeke dying at the end just seems to easy. I'm hoping not.

Nope, the last episode this coming Thursday is only an hour :( Too short!!!

I could totally see them ending the show with Zeke walking Sarah down the aisle, fade off, then showing a flash forward to about five years from then. Zeke has passed. Little Zeke is a little five year old. Joel and Julia have a baby. Amber and Crosby own the luncheonette. Max is a successful photographer and is working with and not for Hank. That kind of thing.
At this point, they really can't kill someone off in real time. Not enough time in one episode for closure, plus Sarah's wedding thrown in. They did this kind of thing with Friday Night Lights and it seemed to work well wrapping things up.

Maybe they could flash-forward to show each of the characters dying - like they did in Six Feet Under. Best series finale ever!! :thumbsup2

Maybe Zeke will decide to have the surgery and beat the odds. I do hope they fast forward to give us closure. :goodvibes

I saw my first parenthood episode on an airplane. I loved it and came home to begin binging on it from the beginning. I love it love it!

Last weeks' episode was really hard for me to watch. I really thought Zeke was going to die and I had to keep hitting the pause. Too many tears and heartache!

I'm wondering, if...with the birth of Amber's baby, he'll realize he wants to do everything in his power to grab ahold of more days to come. I really hope they don't kill anyone off. Surely the producer realized we were sad enough just saying goodbye to our Thursday night friends!

I really enjoy Lauren Graham as an actress and have just now gone to netflix to begin watching all of the Gilmore Girls. I love this show just about as much and am enjoying it about twice a week now. With 7 seasons, I won't have to say goodbye to her for quite a while!

Such a great show...parenthood....although, I will say, the name put me off when it first came on. I thought it was going to be a series about young parents raising whiny babies and it didn't sound very entertaining. I sure was wrong!

The Tv show is an updated/modern version of The movie Parenthood.

Oh, I hope they fast forward so we get some closure on this awesome show.
I missed the first season so thankfully I will have that to get me through the Winter and give me my Parenthood fix.

I finally got to watch the finale! No spoilers for those who haven't seen it yet, but I will say I bawled! Also, my favorite quote of the episode, by Hank, "Look Drew I don't have many friends... Any... I don't have any friends. I don't know what it is. I'm working on it."
:p

Although I'm still sad that the show had to end, I was very satisfied with the end. Definitely one of the best series finale episodes ever!

Back when I was young you never had the pleasure of seeing series finales like this. They just didn't return the next season. It was awful.
