Parent swap TOT/older kid

My tall 9 yo does not like TOT. IIRC, at DLR, one parent can wait off to the side with the child that sits out. Do they have this system at DisneySea? If not, what would you suggest for our family of four?

I found this on the official website under FAQ - "Alternate ride system":

Parents with children who cannot ride an attraction due to boarding restrictions can utilize the Alternate Ride System, which allows one parent to ride while the other watches the child, then switch with a minimal wait.
