You can ignore this if you want, I just need to vent.

Last night I came home from school to an empty house, usually someones here. So mean while I fix the computer, did dishes, swept the floor, shook the mats, did laundry, cleaned the oven.... About an hour later I get a call from my aunt telling me where my mom is. I guess it was just to hard for her to call me herself :rolleyes: . By this time I had supper started. Before I know it my sisters boyfriend walks in the door and neither of them want supper. So I ate by myself. My mom waltzes in at about 7.
My friend calls at 7:30 to see if I could go homecoming dress shopping with her. ( It was her moms birthday who had passed away 2 years ago, so she really wanted me to come). So I ask if I can go and I get " Its 7:30 already you don't need to be going to town this late." So I argued with them and still ended up not going. Then about 9:30 my little sister asks if she can go see a movie. And they said yes :sad2: I heard her come 20 minutes past curfew.

Seriously I don't know what to make of this. I'm 17 years old, I take care of the house, make supper, go to school for 8 hours, then go to college for 3 hours, and not even a simple thanks for doing the dishes or good job on the test. I really think I'm getting jibt here. Am I wrong?

First off, I think that it is amazing that you can find the energy to go to school, go to college, and come home and work, then go dress shopping. I wish I had that kind of energy.

I guess your parents really don't know what they have, with you doing all of that. I don't know what I would do if I was in your shoes, but I do think that it is amazing that you do all of that for your family.

::yes::

well. . .you could think of all the blessings you'll get from doing all that service without recognition? but I think that you are right to a certain degree and that your parents did set a double standard with the out late issue (how old is that sister anyway?) So maybe you should confront your parents (Being as calm and mature as possible or they'll just think you're whining) and state your case. Maybe they didn't realize you had done all that work?

WOW...I'd honestly just lay out the entire night for your mother, explain the issue, and see what she has to say. Just ask her if she can please hear you out before she interrupts or doesn't hear your whole side of the story.
