Just got the Disney Catalogue..in their Mickey Monthly section--they speak about the new "The Golden Mickeys" show.

Additionally--they say that the Magic has three new venues--Cove Cafe, The Pub Masters/Diversions, and "The Stack" teen club.

When does DCL have time to update these things? If dry dock is only once every 2 or 3 years...when did they do these updates?

Also--it says to look for these changes on the Wonder later this year. Again, dry dock is scheduled next October--so do they just close some facilities and give them a makeover while they are cruising?

Just curious--do they have those "Pardon our dust" signs as they refurbish for your future enjoyment?

The physical changes are made during drydock but the shows were changed from one cruise to the next - new sets and new performers and off they go!

During our last cruise in January, they did a presentation on the changes that were made during the dry dock. It took well over a year to prepare for the dry dock and the literally ripped the interiors of the ship apart. Do you wonder how the ship stays looking so new? Thats because a lot of it is new. They re tiled the pools, and bathrooms. New teak wood decks, etc. Spent 10-20 million on it, if I recall correctly.

Thanks for the info...

Does anyone know--how recent the new clubs are--in other threads regarding dry dock--they haven't had one in a few years. Next year both ships are in dry dock.

The catalogue seemed to imply that the venues themselves on the Magic were new. Maybe it is just the entertainment.

Wow--tear apart and put the ship back together in two weeks! Astonishing!

The Magic was just in drydock in October 2003 for two weeks. The Wonder is going in this year.

The Stack is the former location of ESPN Club and is the new location for the teen club that used to be in Common Grounds. Common Grounds was made into an adult night club. And from what I understand the former home of Dueling Pianos may now be the new sports club.

The Magic had the new clubs updated in October 2003. It wont go back into dry dock until October 2005 according to another thread about the cancelled cruises for the first 2 weeks that month.

Gotcha--this whole dry dock thing is so confusing! I guess the Disney catologue isn't the most trusted source of "up-to-date" information. This considering they are published so often and this updates are now a good 6 months new.

Thanks for straigtening out my confusion!
