Parc Soleil or Bonnet Creek?

Hello! We are 2 adults and 1 child (age 6). We are planning an August trip. We would like to stay off site for a few days and then onsite. We are most intersted in a resort with a great pool/waterslide and really good kids activities. From what I have read, it sounds like Parc Soleil or Bonnet Creek would be good for us. Which would you pick (or if there is a different resort, let me know that as well)? We are looking to keep it under $150 a night.
Also, do these 2 resorts have resort fees?
Thanks so much!

Parc Soleil is a HGVC resort, very elegant but if your focus is on children's activities you would be better off with HGVC SeaWorld, which is right around the corner from Parc Soleil. Out of the 3 HGVC resorts it is the best for families with small children. We're staying there ourselves in March because we will have a 2 year old and a 4 year old with us. If we were by ourselves we would stay at Parc Soleil or Tuscany, the 3rd HGVC resort in Orlando.

Bonnet Creek is location, location location if your main focus is WDW. There are many threads describing how nice it is so I won't repeat them. You really can't go wrong with either location so price should guide you. You should be able to find fabulous deals at either location, you are really in a win-win situation.

Thanks so much for the info! Any ideas of where I can get a good deal? Also, does anyone know if Parc Soleil or Bonnet Creek charge resort fees? Thanks again for your help.

You can book directly through Hilton or Wyndham (most expensive option). You can try timeshare rental sites like Timeshare Users Group or Redweek or just Google Timeshare rentals and see if you can rent from an owner (best chance for a deal) I believe if you read the Bonnet Creek threads you will find links and email addresses for people who rent there. You can also sign up for the TUG site, go to the different forums for Wyndham and HGVC and ask for recommendations there, you will have direct access to the owners if you use that forum.

Hilton's Parc Soleil has a very "upscale" feel. It has stainless steel appliances and wood laminate floors and the units are just plain gorgeous. With AAA, I've seen the one bedrooms go for $149 a night on Hilton.com. The main pool had a very large zero entry area and a nice pool slide. I know there were activities for the kids because we saw some at the main pool, but I never looked at a schedule. No resort fees charged.

I do not recall any resort fee.

However the housekeeping of the Parc Soleil is the worst of any hotel I been to. They do not clean the floor, do not vacuum the carpet, sometime do not replenish the detergent/tissue/toilet paper. One of the day they forgot the towel. And when we come back to the room before 6pm, most of the time they have not come to "clean" it yet. I have stayed at the hotel with kitchen before, at other hotel, house keeping even do the dishes for us (ok, put the dish in the dish washer and start it so we have clean dishes when we return). It is a vacation home alright, you have to do the cleaning as well :(

Sorry for the rant, I expect housekeeping clean the room.

Other than housekeeping, all is good, staff is friendly and give us what we asked (detergen, tissue, toilet paper, towel) but again it should be there without been asked.

Oh, and expect a few call from the timeshare sales, including from concierge, trying to sell time share.

Most timeshares don't include daily housecleaning. We own HGVC Sea World, and we get 1 midweek clean during our stays, that's it. That's the protocol at most timeshares. You can pay additional if you'd like more.
All timeshares will also call your unit asking you to attend a "breakfast", "lunch", (aka timeshare pitch). Just unplug your phone when you arrive. :)

I agree with you totally. The reason we stayed at parc soleil because it advertise daily housekeeping as its service. www1.hilton.com/en_US/hi/hotel/MCOMDGV-Parc-Soleil-Suites-by-Hilton-Grand-Vacations-Florida/index.do

Just an update-
We ended up staying at Parc Soleil in August. We loved it! It was so luxurious and beautiful. It is a little out of the way, but we didn't care. The pools were great, and the staff was wonderful. Our daughter loved the clubhouse and the waterslide. We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at both hotels last year. For us, Bonnet Creek hands down was the winner.

Agreed. BC is a much better overall experience. PS too isolated & nowhere near as many on site features. Hands down we'd go Bonnet Creek given that choice.

Hi - We are looking for a place to stay after our cruise in June....We want to visit Universal, maybe Seaworld and then just relax. Is HGVC Seaworld close to Universal as well? Also do you know how I can check it out? Do they have a website? And finally how would I go about reserving a unit? We are a family of 6. My husband, me and our four children who are 3, 12, 14, &16...Do you think the resort is right for us. We'd need a two bedroom and don't want to pay more then $150 (tops) per night.

For what it's worth, I had gotten an offer in the mail about 6 months ago...it was quite a deal to tour the Parc Soleil...mandatory timeshare tour...we get 3 night's accomodations and 2 WDW tickets, and I think the price is around $ 70/night for a 1 bedroom unit. I think it was cheaper for a Studio unit, but we will have our Grandson with us and wanted a bit more room. Don't know how you get on the "Hilton List", but might be worth a call to them, letting them know you are interested in possibly purchasing a timeshare near WDW, and do they have any promotional offers going on now? Can't hurt to try, as you might get a deeply discounted rate in exchange for the tour. I know that the Hilton tours are not high pressure as some others might be.

thanks for all the info im planning my trip for next week and this is more than usefll thanks

I am still struggling to decide where to stay myself.

Does anyone know what the layout of the 3 bedroom units at BC are like?

Are there at least 2 of the bedrooms with one bed in them instead of two?
