Hi,

We are driving to Disney and are planning to go here for a day on the way down. Is there anywhere you can get cheap tickets for here and do people think it is good.

We then plan to finish driving to Disney but stay outside cheaply before getting to our Disney hotel early the next morning. Do people know any good hotels.

Thanks

Ross

There are lots of very cheap hotels in Bussy St George, Torcy and Val D Europe.

You can't really go wrong with the Premiere Classe, Ibis Budget or Campanile. They're all basic but are fine for one night.

Depending on when you are visiting you could find promos on tickets, this summer they were some at 30€, but they aren't as frequent as for DLP

Personally I dislike the place, I don't like the population that it gets in the summer and the queue jumping, smoking, lack of customer service, very long queues etc etc are no fun.

People report having better luck out of season.

It's also more fun for teenagers as the main rides are thrill rides and there's not a great deal for small ones.

If you have the time and you can get a cheap ticket give it a go you might enjoy it more than me and my friends ;)

As Happy Tappy says the chain hotels are the best bet - In order (of space and amenities) it would be Campanile, Premiere Classe and Ibis Budget (ex. Etap Hotel)

The Campanile at Bussy St Georges has been renovated and gets good reviews on TA :goodvibes

We love Parc Asterix and have used Tesco Clubcard vouchers to visit twice in the past year. My two 10 year olds really enjoy the rides which are more adventurous than Disneyland and I (as a non-rollercoaster lover) find plenty of rides which suit me too. We have been in October and August and didn't find the queues too bad, although we tend to get there before it opens. You need to speak more French there than at Disneyland but we quite like that! There are special offers on at the moment but it will soon be closing for the winter so I don't know when you are planning on going.

Hi, we plan to go end of July. We looked at Tesco vouchers but need them for the Eurotunnel. I will have to regularly check the website or can you sign up for promotions?

Thanks

Ross

For cheap(er) you want to be looking next year when the season starts again on sites like

www.fnacspectacles.com

http://www.ticketnet.fr/index

http://www.spectacles.carrefour.fr/

http://www.francebillet.com/

as they are the sites that will have better deals than the Parc Asterix site.

This year you could get tickets from the above for 30€ instead of 44€ on the PA site.

They copy Disney in that they call them Billet Malin but the savings aren't as great :|

Hi! We did it the other way round this summer - DLP first then Asterix. We stayd in teh Apparthotel in Roissy-en-France and would highly recommend it! We stayed 2 nights and did Asterix in between, but depending on your stamina and the crowds you could probably polish it off in 2/3 of a day (I don't think it stays open into the evening).

The apparthotel was just outside the town of Roissy, and we walked there to buy supplies - its a lovely town, with loads of dining options if you want to eat there. We also bought our Asterix tickets in advance from Tourist Information:thumbsup2 The Appartments are air-conditioned and have one double bedroom and a pull-out sofa bed (which our boys 18 and 12 found perfectly comfy) with TV in both rom, free wifi, small but adequate bathroom (with toileteries - and much higher water pressure than DLP!) and a small kitchenette with full size fridge, 2 ceramic hotplates and a microwave. The breakfast buffet is 9 euro - it was nothing special, there's a mini-Casino just in the village square which sells everything you coud want including bread baked on the premises (bit like a better Tesco Metro). The crockery was a bit hit and miss - 3 glasses and one cup for 4 people but if you're not having a gourmet dinner party who's worried?! It was very spacious and comfortable (especially having been in one room for 4 nights with no wifi!) and we could happily have stayed another night or two and explored the area. There was no noticeable noise from the airport even though it is just the other side of Roissy.

Only about 1/2 hour drive to Asterix from here, and maybe an hour to DLP. In my view perfectly located! You could stp here overnight, do Asterix and then be in Disney early evening. As others have said, you do need to be able to speak more French. On the plus side beer is an option with the set meals in the burger stops! There are many dining options including a smart restaurant, but we wanted to eat quickly before the dolphin show.

We didn't find it that crowded (2 August), except waiting for rope drop - and yes there is a LOT of smoking, but then there was a lot in DLP as well (athough not as much). The shops had lots of interesting merchandise, and I wish I'd bought more.
