My advice: call the weather service and request a moderately windy day. You might get an extra ride.
My wife and I had already planned on flying tandem. But the woman in front of us had been telling us how her husband had chickened out, and she was going to go it alone.
When it was her turn, the captain said that due to the wind she was too light to fly alone, and he needed a volunteer to go up with her. I raised my hand, and they strapped me in with her.
We went up, and I found myself with my legs wrapped tightly around a strange woman whose husband had just stood her up.
("Is that your KTTW, or are you just glad to be parasailing?")
No, seriously. Nothing like that happened. But given our positioning, it was a little awkward.
She probably wanted to just enjoy the tranquility. But I figured I had one of two choices: I could either say, "Don't mind me, I'll sit here quietly while my thighs rub up against your bottom". Or we could just talk. We had a very pleasant conversation about each others' families, and pointed out different sites on the island that we might have missed if we were on our own. (There's a lot to see if you look for it).
My wife got a big kick out of it, and snapped a couple of pictures before I got my second ride with her.
Two rides with two women. Only one passionate kiss.
Bottom line: if you're lightweight and flying alone, pray for calm weather.
