I think I'm still young enough to be stupid enough to try parasailing, but I have a question - in the limited amount of reading I've done on the subject - you must be 70 lbs or over to parasail. I know my DS (7) would love to do it as well but is no where near 70 lbs. Can it be done tandem or do you have to go up separately?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks & have a great weekend!!

Here is the info from Disney's site. I'm not sure if other parasailing places are different. DD & I are going to parasail tandem, but she is over 90 pounds.

View Castaway Cay from a whole new perspective as you soar approximately 600-1,000 feet in the air! This aerial adventure is approximately 45 minutes total, with 7-9 minutes airborne. Guests must weigh more than 90 lbs., but must not exceed 375 lbs. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Adult Price: $70 (ages 10 and above)
Child Price: $70 (ages 8-9)
Departure Times: Every 60 minutes, beginning at 10:30 am Disney Magic
9:00 am Disney Wonder

My DH parasailed in Nassau years ago and loved it. Then on our cruise, he and DD(then 10) tandemed. He said it was incredible and would never do it solo again! He cited the ability of sharing the experience with someone, pointing out things, being able to talk about what they see.........it was an incredible experience to share with our daughter (who, btw, surprised us that she was daring enough to consider it).

Just got back from 3 night wonder. I parasailed in CC. You need to be 90lbs on your own or in tandem. Cost is $70 per person.

THey will not haggle on the weight as it is needed to control the parachute.

70 lbs is not enough weight to control the parachute so they will not let you go.

Also, only paying parasailers can go on the boat.

My son weighed only 47lbs and I think Disney was requiring just a bit more. I researched a few places and settled on Carribean Watersports in St Thomas. (Eastern) We did tandum together and it was just heavenly. Nothing more special than getting a sweet kiss from your kid at 500ft. PM me if you want the full info.

Ok, I am 64 yrs old and not especially strong - but I would love to go parasailing on CC. Is this viable for an old foogie like me? What about 55 lb. granddaughter with her 165 lb daughter?
