We're going to give parasailing a try on our visit....was wandering if anyone has ever taken a camera...or video camera up with them?! :cool1: I can only imagine what a pic or tape you could get...but then again, don't want do drop it in the lake!

:wizard: hey everybody
i went parasailing on my cruise last year and brought my camera with me. it was just a disposable in case i did drop it but i was fine with it so id say go for it. :wizard:

Haven't done it, but plan to on our upcomming trip!!! Should be able to get some great pix!!

I don't think I'll take my digital up but one of those water proof disp will do! :sunny:

My DH took up a waterproof disposable and got some neat shots, although they are far from being perfect pics.
He got a few shots of backstage areas, much of the area around the CR, the boat, lake, etc.
My dad paid one of the boat crew to take photos, not sure how much it was, but the pics turned out pretty good.
And last, I went along and videotaped but did not go up. Just tagged along to get the video and take pics. The crew were fine with that.
Word of advice, don't zoom in too far because it makes the picture very jumpy and you don't even realize it watching through the camera screen. The motion of the boat just amplified the shakiness with the zoom...........
Otherwise, filming turned out okay. It is fun to watch people taking off and landing.

Man, its hard to type with a cat on your lap.!

My husband couldn't post this as he is a lurker :rotfl2:

He took our video camera up

I was scared to death that he would drop it. If he went down the camera went too as he looped it in the harness.

Enjoy! :hourglass Counting down the minutes till we leave NEXT FRIDAY!!!!

<edit> oops... typo on the link. Should work now.

You can take a camera up with you. IMHO, it's perfectly safe depending on your driver. I've heard of some parasail drivers (at other resorts... NOT Disney), who as part of the "adventure", will let you float down trying to get your feet wet.

I would feel totally secure in going up with my video camera again. As you can see in the video my wife posted, when they buckle you into the harness, I just fed the strap through. The only way the camera was getting wet was if I went in. Sorry if the video was a long download, hope it gives you an idea of the view you can expect

(I would have posted but the rules state I have to post a number of messages before I can post URLs :confused3 )

I took my disposable camera up with me. I had been para-sailing before, elsewhere, and I knew that I did NOT need to hold on for dear life.
My hands were free to hold the camera. I had the camera in a type of holder, and I knew that it was tight. The holder cord was around my neck, so I was certain that I would not drop it. My pictures turned out great !

Thanks everyone...now, I'm NOT the one going up (and never will)...but my husband is going up with the kids and being the photo-craze person that I am, I wanted him to get some pics/video up there! Sounds like he'll be doing it...know just have to decide pics or video...or maybe I'll give my teenager the disposable and let my husband take the video camera...to get both! :cool1:

just to let you know, our driver dipped 4 out of the 5 people who went up during our parasailing trip. all were family. the only one not dipped was my 62 year old dad. they only dipped up to the mid calf though, not a complete dunk.

I'm thinking that if the driver is aware of the fact that he will have a video camera in his hands...that he won't dip!...however, it's such a great idea! :rotfl: I would love to see DH 'dipped' in the lake! :rotfl:
