Not sure where it would be best to post this, but here goes:

How much is a parasailing excursion? How long are you up for? Can you do it tandem (me and DH together)? Is it worth it? Dh and would like to try, but don't want to spend $50 for a 10 minute trip...

Here's some info about Parasailing from www.allearsnet.
We did this and it's a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sammy Duvall's Watersports Centre
Contemporary Resort

**Prices as of July 2005**

Parasailing: Uniquely designed boat enables take-off and landing from the back of the boat, not from the water! Solo fliers must weigh a minimum of 100 pounds.

Single Flight:
Regular: $90 per flight (8-10 minutes at 450 feet)
Premium: $ 112.50 per flight (10-12 minutes at 600 feet)

Tandem Flight:
Regular: $140 per flight (8-10 minutes at 450 feet)
Premium: $162.50 per flight (10-12 minutes at 600 feet)

Another thing to note is that you may be sharing the boat with other parasailers. If you want the boat to yourself it is an extra charge. Last May we did it (2 of us) on the gold package and asked for the boat to ourselves since the cost was included. It ended up being about $500 for two premium flights.

We also did it last May and had the boat to ourselves at no extra charge. I paid the same rate that purplern has in their post and we received a DVC discount of I think 20%(may have been lower). You also get 10% off with an Annual Pass.

I guess it doesn't happen all that often. The only reason I mentioned it was b/c the people coming back on the boat before us were two separate parties - how could I tell you might wonder - the husband made a comment about having to share the boat. I just didn't want anyone to be upset if they had to share without knowing it was a possibility - maybe that only happens at busy times? We had to take a very late day spot since that was all that available.
