For those who have have done parasailing at Castaway Cay, how was it? My wife and son (11 yrs old)) want to do it. They have never parasailed before and really want to do it next year when we cruise.

My dh and dd(10) did it in January and loved it. They went tandem(together). It still cost $70 pp whether they went alone or together. My dh had parasailed alone years ago and thought it was great. My dh surprised me by wanting to do it (she usually not the adventurous type!) My dh said he enjoyed having her with him so much, he never wants to go alone again. They enjoyed being able to point things out to each other and share the excitement. They said that it feels like you are a kite, not flying, but more like hanging in the air, not scary. And beautiful!

My hubby did it and loved it! He said it is not frightening at all. You don't even get wet, as you take off and land right from the boat. The only negative is that it is so short...he said it feels like you've hardly gotten up there before they are reeling you in. He plans to try it again and to bring the camcorder with him.

Oh, and something else.....dh took a disposable camera and asked another person on the boat to take pics....got a great one of them high above the Magic. I wish he had taken another one to take pics while he was up. And yet another thought....one of the more daring riders asked to get his feet wet, and they ever so gently allowed him to lower into the water and then took him up again! THAT'S what he wants to do next time! :D

I've seen this tandem idea before but what I've never been able to get answered is what is the MAX weight for two? My DD is a tooth pick, but NOT ME!! Any body remember reading it anywhere?

I don't remember what it is, but I know it is a LOT because I remember noting that hubby and I could do it together. He is no lightweight, and I'm not exactly skinny myself.

The last time I did it the combined max weight is 350. I went up with my godson and we both loved it!
